Gargant Big Mob list development

He was a bit more tame, using another big mob on garrissin, but yes. If I could change a thing I would do an architecture similar to the war griphons amtl list, with a high emphasis on the titans.
And I would kick out any "extra" troop-addon-options out like the flakwaggons. Keep em as solitary units and be done.
Basically the list has everything. Strong air, resistant core troops (fearless) and highspeed masses of troops. No real weaknesses.

Thats an illegal list atension. Each Gargant only gives you 3 support/flier slots.

Yes, this could be a good idea. Never saw this as a problem actually.

High speed masses of troops??? Eactly which troops are you refering to here? Lootas can buy a battlefortress but then they cost 265p. What else moves fast? everything moves 15cm.

I would say that the liost suffers from 2 big weaknesses: low activation count and slow speed. And thoose are very big weaknesses considering the game is built about manouverability and objective grabbing..2 Gargants can only give you 6 support choices (including air) so i have a hard time seeing how its not titan focused.

That being said I am tempted to loose the lootas completly and only have killa kanz as core.

Hmmm has it always been like that? I guess I just assumed that fliers like Warengines in every other list are tallied in a seperate column (not support). Aircraft falling into their 1/3 restricted Warengines/flier section. The restriction needs to be added to army forge also. It has the fliers in a seperate "aviation" column. Sounds like Largo_W's opponent may have made the same mistake.

Not sure this is a good idea. I know it would destroy several of my favourite builds (aircraft mistake taken into account). With the subpar shooting from the gargants the extra Oddboys are a must for every list I've used.

Sorry guys, apparently the list structure is impossible to program in the armyforge.

But just to be clear:
Every Gargant opens up 3 slots for non-gargant and aviation formation ( 3 in total, not 3 each).
Every Great- and Mega Gargant opens up 4 slots for non-gargant and aviation formation ( 4 in total, not 4 each).

I'm afraid Mordoten is correct, due to the fact that the gargants open up different numbers of support slots, unless you take one of each, the error checking cries that you don't have a great/mega/gargant ::)

I've edited the note on the armyforge file to include aviation formations as well as support formations so hopefully this will reduce confusion

always read the fine print guys!! :)

To be honest - I love the current list. The list above is the same one I recently took to a tourney, designed to take on all comers. To that end, I've only taken the solid choices for the upgrades (Supa-Zapp guns, Mega Lobbas, Wyrdboy Towers, Reinforced Boilers) - I see these as the most popular/versatile options.

I'll have a think on it and follow through with a detailed report tonight

The small text for unable to be modeled restrictions is something we've even done on Codex marines so I don't think it'll be a big deal in practice.

New version uploaded (version 3.2.3)
- Ripper fist weapon lowered to 25p.
-All extra unit upgrades removed from all Gargants.

This version is being considered for being the one that goes for approved status. If you have any BIG issues with the list please bring them to my attention in a well described manner. If I don't get any responses within a week from today i will go ahead and put this list on the road to approval.

Okay. theres been a week since my last post with no comments whatsoever.

This could either mean that noone has any issues with the list which is a good thing. It can also mean that noone gives a damn about it which is a not so good thing... :-)

Anyhooooow.... This means that the latest version (version 3.2.3) will be put up for approval!

The list is in the OP of this thread. If any webwizard knows how to combine all 3 PDF:s into 1 I would be very gratefull to get some help (I really suck at computery stuff)

So If anyone wants to contribute with 4 battle reports i would be gratefull!
