Time to wake this sleeping toadstool again...

I have been reviewing the list and have come up with the following:

Proposed Cost Changes
- Emperor's Children Terminators - Reduce down to 450 points
- Dreadclaws - Reduce to 25 points (still reviewing this one)


Options being considerred
- Knights of Perversion - Possibility of reducing their Initiative to 2+ and thereby reducing the Subjugator down to 225 points and the Questor to 275 points. Not sure if this change is necessary, yet placed here for the sake of posterity

- Currently the Noise Marine Retinue is priced correctly with the Daemonic Pact or would be reduced to 275 points without it. I am leaving the Deamonic Pact on for now as it encourages the use of Daemons which I find to be a signature element of most Emperor's Children post Heresy literature

- I have decided to make the same decision with the Decadent Retinue. Currently they may be a little underpriced. I do not think that this is an issue for the list, and if I go to a tiered purchase system, it will cover any negative aspects there as well.

- Bike Retinue - Priced slightly higher than they probably should be, however rounding was necessary for them

- Sonar (or whatever name that they will adopt) - I feel that they are right for their points. If you do the math, the CC4+ First Strike is equivalent to the Raptors CC3+. The fact that Raptors have such an awesome FF should see a reduction in the Sonar, yet not enough to warrant a 25 poiint drop - so they will stay as is.

- Armoured Support/Daemon Engine Pack/House Devine Knights - Will stay at their current costs
- All Upgrades (other than Dreadclaws which are being considerred) will stay at their current points costs
- All Chaos Aircraft and Navy will stay at their current points costs
- Reviler Titan/Painlord will stay at their current points costs


So there you have it for now. Any concerns or feedback before I look to update the document?

I think that this will be more important and I'll hold back until then.

It is not going to be anything more mind blowing than probably this:

Core
- Noise Marine Retinue
- Decadent Marine Retinue

Support - Any 6 may be chosen per Noise Marine Retinue purchased (because 6 is Slaanesh's cool ass number)
- all other formations

This would allow for 7 formations before having to buy another Noise Marine Retinue (if required), otherwise the rest of the army is Decadent marines, aircraft and War Engines. The emphasis is placed on buying the Noise Marines to get everything that is 'juicy' in the list.

I think this get's past any concerns regarding an Emperor's Children force with no Noise Marines

Other considerations:

- Emperor's Children Decadent Marine - rename to Chaos Marine (it is the same unit so why mess around with the name). The formation will still retain the Decadent Lord and be renamed Decadent Marine Retinue. This should represent Chaos Marines turning to Slaanesh and on the journey to becoming Noise Marines.

- Remove 'Favoured of Slaanesh' upgrade from 'Decadent Marine Retinue' - They are not worthy of his presence at their stage of the journey

- Emperor's Children Sonar - Rename simply to Siren
- Emperor's Children Sonar Retinue- Rename simply to Sirens

- Land Raider - replace 'twin Heavy Bolters' with 'Blastmaster'. Even though there is a small gain in firepower (1x Disrupt shot), no change in points. It would be amazing if Land Raiders even saw any games to be honest - may as well make them tie into the Emperor's Children while they are there.

That's it for now. That gives my brain more room to intake info - that's how it works right?

When I was processing the doc for NetEA Army Books the name "Sonar" jumped out as totally out of place... and silly.

"Sirens" works much better.

Hoping to get this done this weekend Chroma (with any luck).

I agree that people would normally take a fluffy army. However some of us, myself included can also be competitive and will when the feeling takes us squeeze every advantage out of a list. Hence the need for the odd fluff nudge.

Nice list overall, very different and full of evil Slaanesh flavor. I like that it does not feel like generic CSM with some cult units pasted on.

The tier list structure will be an improvement.

"Sirens" sounds cool and strangely ominous.

Renaming the Decadents to Chaos Space Marines is probably just as well.

Keep up the good work! I'm writing my thesis right now, so will not be able to help with play testing unfortunately. But when I'm done I'll pick up work on both my WoE force and break out some pastel paints...
