I've never used sonars, predators or bikers as of yet but i do intend to use them at some point.

I do agree with you about the painlord, ive onbly tried using it as a gun platform once and that didnt really work for me,but in combat its right beast.
Last game i used it,it destroyed 2 lords of battle,2 plague towers and a huge formation of mutants,it had 1 DC left but it was still impressive.

For infantry i only ever take noise marines, mainly for the FF value, because these guys are the support for when my mass of deamons arrive and assault( i usually take a GD,10 deamonettes and 10 seekers(might not take these next game)),but the whole fearless thing definatley helps!!!

i usually take knights, but might try out the deamon engine pack next.

Now ive got a second army, might actually get a game with my friends without having to travel too much!!!

cheers
matt

The Sonars get shot up pretty quickly so don't be too depressed if they do nothing all game. They are a soft target, yet better your opponent shoot at them rather than a juicier unit.
Predators - Said it before and I will say it again - @ 300 points for 6 FF monsters that move 30cm, they are awesome in an assault and in Supporting fire. Thoroughly recommended
Bikers - These are pretty much Chaos bikers with Ignore Cover on their FF. The Fearless Character helps, yet like the sonars, generally a soft target

Yep, just one look at the stats and I knew that a 60cm march was in order for the first turn. Just have to get him behind buildings to claim hull down where possible.

Yes, they really are a nasty piece of work at 10-15cm. Remember that Decadents (while not fearless) also have Daemonic Pact, have a 45cm shot, and their 4+ stats are not something to scoff at when you are saving 75 points. 2 of these guys with the help of some Daemons almost grabbed me a shot at the BTS, yet the dice did not see it that way ;)

I have used Defilers alot, and the Debasers themselves are a good source for the AA defence. Overall the unit has not done too much for me other than drive the fear of using aircraft or getting too close, into my opponent. For that, the cost may be justified. With Defilers coming down to 250 in other lists, we may see these come down in cost by 25 points (as a formation) - unsure at this time. No doubt more games will tell.

I know what you mean. Always good to be able to play any force at a whim.

Keep me updated on your thoughts and findings.

Cheers dude and thanks for sharing. :)

With the most recent directive from Steve54, it is my goal to post up the possible changes for the review in the coming months (September/October)

I hope to get some more playtests going throughout the rest of this year.

If anyone is playing the odd game here or there, or your just browsing the forum, please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the list.

Cheers......

Seeing I am reviewing this list next month, I thought I would put the questions out there:

- What do people think of the list?
- Any glaring concerns?
- Changes you would like to see?
- What works well?
- What is stopping you from playing the list?

It's a community fan list that I would hope gets included in the NetEA book, so have a say and be a part of the NetEA future.

BL, you talk to yourself even on the Red Corsairs list. Look at your last post oin that list and the page of ideas leading up to your post. It's as if that all did not exist :D

Yes, being an AC of some lists is a lonely road. I guess getting any list to be accepted as balanced at a tournament level is the eventual goal.

Keep fighting the good fight my good man. :)

Well i answered you concerns about the focus and fluff behind the Red Corsairs armylist :)
All the other talk seems to go in circels and nullify each other so meh :D Bu ti have adressed the Terminators/Havocs arc of discussion now :)

I find no glaring issues with this list. Looks very fluffy. Still not so keen on the name "Sonar". How about "Screecher"?

Call out for ideas:

Current situation
I currently have a restriction in the list that states "House Devine Knight formations are restricted to one for every 1000 points played." I could keep it in there however I was hoping for a more elegant solution.

I am looking for ideas of how to place a restriction on this formation within the following guidelines:

1. No hard 0-X restrictions
2. No separate 'support/auxiliary' section of the list - remains within the main box of Core formations

Does anyone have any ideas?

This list is being updated in October so if people have any input to give, now would probably be the best time to do it.

Current considerations:
- Renaming the Sonar (Sirens?)
- Dreadnought Armour at 4+ (adjusting this to 3+)
- Decadent Lord and Sonar Lord with Fearless - necessary?
- House Devine Knights - Is the current restriction fine for the document?
- Terminators - remove the restriction of 1 per 1000 points

Errors Found in Playtest document:
- Decadent Weapon: Autocannon - Should read AP5+/AT6+

Cheers.. :)

To show that you are not posting just for your own benefit, some comments. First off, I haven't played this list, but I have been playing EUK-Emperors Children and took them to the last tournament.

Looking at the 3.4 list here is a 3k army that I would probably start with:

Daemon Knights
Daemon Knights
Terminators
Subjugator
Subjugator
Sonar
Sonar
Sonar
Sonar
Hellblades

This army has a bit of everything - I would like to drop the terminators and have a third formation of Knights, but this just gives me 3 BTS formations. Sonars are great, 6 first strike jump pack troops. Knights to garrison on overwatch and then advance to lay down 18 shots. I would certainly consider reducing the size of the formation. As the terminators are not fearless I would probably hold them back to the 3rd turn to reduce the chance of losing my BTS and then teleport them in to secure an area that I could not be over whelmed by my opponent. Sonars and Subjugators would go after a flank and try to roll the enemy up.

The one thing that this list then shows as a problem is that I'm not playing with any Noise Marines, is this a potential problem for an EC list?
