Cool.  I just want to add that FWIW, I'm glad you went with d10s rather than six-siders.  The regulation d6 just never seemed to provide enough variety for me.  I'm also glad that basically everything has a target number of 10, keeps things simple, though I think that maybe until a person is accustomed to the rules they may get bogged down with some of the modifier charts.

I totally agree that D12 is the king of dice...  :D

Anyway, Serg, I was surprised how quickly we performed mental calculations during a game and easily converted the 'to hit' to what we need. Kind of "I need an 11 to kill (10 is just supress) and I get an overall +3, so I need 8's".

Yeah, most people can do that with any game after a couple go arounds.  The only game I could never do that with was Battletech.

Wimp!!! ? :D ?:p ? ???

Battletech is not that bad. ?It's beer and pretzels compared to some of the other games out there.  If you want some stupid mental gymnastics you should try combat resolution in 2nd ed. AD&D (can you say "thac0") or the first couple of editions of ?Shadowrun.

Another favorite is in Star Fleet Battles, firing at an Orion Pirate ship that is cloaking using the phased cloaking rules.

I played 2nd Ed AD&D.  Never had a problem.  Problem I had with BTech was that I could never seem to remember the hit location charts from, especially from the right or left side, nor the chart that showed how many missiles actually hit.  Some kind of mental block or something.
