Anyone else from around these parts going to this event?
I've been booked in by some friends to help them move house to sheffield tomorrow & sat, so it timed in well for me to attend the Baccus day & meet up with some other 6mm gaming fans of all periods.
Really looking forward to seeing Peter's sculpting Demo & picking up some tips fromhim & others in attendance, both hobby & gaming related.
Just thought I'd ask if anyone else canmake it?
(And I'll have my painting kit with me too & it sounds like I'll be demo'ing some painting on some CH figures if people are interested on the day. )

You do realise that you have now had two whole days and have not yet displayed pictures of the event or your efforts!
I would like to see your take on the CH range.

hehe.
unfortunately I didn't get much time for painting - I got somewhat caught up in the English Civil war ?
Since I was demo'ing higher end techniques, what I actually did was demo almost everything which people has asked about (including eyes!) on the side of a Centaur Heavy tank, rather than painting whole models.
THus, I'm afraid there's not much to see other than a bit of a mess!
However, Peter did let me walk away with a few CH pieces (as well as a Polemos ECW rulebook which I bought... ) which I will put to the brush at my first oportunity, but it wont be for a while as other commitments are sadly rather pressing ?
It was a great day however, and I'd like to thank Peter, the guys at the Wargames Emporium & my opponents for putting up with a complete Noobie, to both the game & the Period! I hope I made up for it slightly with my rushed painting notes

Peter has posted a brief report of the day onhis site if you're interested CS.
Baccus News page with report
I thoughtI'd avoided the camera, and you'll note in most shots I'm carefully hidden behind other people, but I was out-manouvered & caught unawares - I was the loner playing ECW Royalists...
My left flank put up a valiant effort, but the routing of my Elite cavalry in the first contact on the right spelled disaster, and the day went to the enemy.
Next time I'll be playing withmy own painted army however.... then see where the dice's luck is drawn...

Paul beat me to it! ?I've just put a photo report on the Baccus site, and there's also a couple of CH photos on the news page of the Command Horizon Site
The venue is superb for this type of event. ?As CH grows I'd like to offer an S-F only gaming day as well, splitting it away from the historicals.

Am I interested in a report? Hell yes. It looks like a very interesting day. Thanks for the heads-up.
