Hey I've been looking at these to use as chimeras for my IG army but I can't find a good size comparison for them or a picture of the back to see if it will work alright. I'd appreciate it if someone could attach a pic of the CHH6 Medium tanks.

Thank!

I don't have any, so I can't post pics for you, but if it helps, the bases the minis are pictured on are 60mm square, I believe, so you might be able to get an idea of the size of the minis from looking at how big they are against the size of the base they are sitting on.

The tanks are slightly smaller than Chimeras but the biggest issue is that they are grav tanks and so have no treads or wheels and will look very odd in a Guard army IMO regardless of the size

Thanks. I was planning on using some greenstuff to add in tracks. They look like they have track guards on the sides to support a track but need a bit of detail underneath to make the tracks themselves.

Here are some, though apparently I didn't photo the rear of the mediums.

Thanks for the pics! I guess the big question for me is whether or not there is some form of hatch and if there is enough space to scribe one.

If I manage to get home at a reasonable hour tonight I'll see what I can do about taking some pictures of the rear.  There's no hatch, but I may have filed it off in an effort to get rid of mold lines.

On the tracks issue, you could probably make some pretty easily by using nylon zip ties.  If you buy a wider variety and cut the smooth outside edges off, you're left with a nice strip of teeth that look very similar to the tracks on the Forgeworld Epic Chimeras.

Luckily, the CHH6 tanks have great looking flanks so far as adding tracks goes.  You wouldn't even need to build up the hull or add road wheels, as the medium tanks look like they have track skirts that go all the way to the ground, so just adding a strip of track to each side would be all you need to do.

Thanks for that info Sgt.
That track ideal is a pretty interesting one, I may give it a shot since it's much simpler than my greenstuff idea.

It's worth trying!

I realized afterwards that "zip tie" might be an unfamiliar colloquialism, so here's a Wiki article on them:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_tie

Very interesting idea about using cable ties for tracks! I have to try that out sometime.

Indeed I used to call them gator clips for some obscure reason.

Yes, I have two types of "zip strips"/cable ties ... One type I can use as 6mm ladders and the other would work well for Tracks, track guards or fenders.  In the Army they were use in our vehicles as cable ties. And on patrol they would work well for EPW "Hand Cuffs" ... :)   TRC - "Gator Clips" are various sizes clips that open & close like a cloths pin or an Alligator's jaw. And have small "teeth" to hold on to whatever they are clipped on to ! :D  You boyz need to spend more time around the motor pool !
