Yeah, but who plays 2999pt games?*

*Rule is intended to be per full 1500pts.

Rulebook Steel Legion has 3 Support Formations per Company.
It's the same concept.

Yes Hydras and Manticore can't take armoured crew compartment because they already have it. Is there any balance reason that the Hydra and Manticore have to be only Armour 6+?

Ok@Xeno-hutner. It will be added for friendly games only.

@HQ: It could. It has to be written that it is clear that the non-mech Infantry is a separate formation despite that you buy it (optionally) with the Leviathan.

Yes there are very good balance reasons for them being 6+ armour; the only thing basillisks have over manticores is the armour save.

I find the 120 cm AP4+/AT4+ of the Basilisk quite handy and sometimes superior to their 1BP.

Well. I'm not that adamant on not agreeing on all this issues :)

But some comments:
Manticore, Deathstrike and Hydra HAVE Enclosed Cabines from the beginning. I'm somewhat reluctand to buy this "exposed ammunition" argument because by this argument Hellhounds and Support Missile carrying Titans should be more vulnerable too.

Why no attached Sentinels as upgrades?

With the Colossus "Can't fire directly" on the Mortar, the range might as well be "30-150cm", but then, I don't think the note is even needed, or is it there to only allow the Mortar to fire during a "Sustained Fire" action and no other?

@Chroma: Hmm i think you are correct. The note isn't needed.

@Rug:
The Supreme Commander unit and each Fire Support unit is one Squad each. And each Squad gets one Chimera as transport.
The Command Platoon is 500pts regardless if you take Chimeras or a Leviathan. If you want extra Infantry then you can add the Foot Infantry Platoon whish would be two separate formations (with one starting the game inside the Leviathan)

A i now seei calculated it wrong: If you take the Leviathan for the Command Platoon (6 units) and the Infantry Platoon (12 units), then you can purchase Sinpers (2 units) to fill up all transport spaces.
So the Leviathan should have Transport (21) or (25) if you want to considfer alsy adding Ogryns (for a variant army list as the Steel Legion does't uses Ogryns).

Hmph my bad. Yes its the Command Platoon OR the Leviathan.
Haven't looked at this list for ages :D

So my thoughts were that the Regimental HQ in the rulebook SteelLegion is +100pts in comparison to the Mechanised Company.
And 5 Fire Support units + the Supreme Commander generate 11 Autocannon shots which is quite some punch.

Regarding extra transports: This list is all about fluff. So one transport per Squad i would prefer to stand. I see the Leviathan as superior to 6 Chimeras.

I could go for this:

Company Command (400pts):
1 Supreme Commander unit
5 Fire Support
6 Chimeras

OR
1 Leviathan Command Centre (has Supreme Commander ability, see datasheet)
12 Infantry units

Note that this list was build with the last Codex IMperual Guard inmind where the Company Command Squad enabled to field 0-5 additional Squads (could be Fire SUpport, or Sentinels, etc for a total of 5 additional Squads/Squadrons).

@Leviathan transport capacity: I designed it to transport a full Infantry Platoon (13 units) with Ogryns and Sniper ugrades (each 2 units while Ogryns need double the transport space) if someone wanted to use it in another variant list.
