Something like this has been my go to IG list for a long time:

I usually take the Shadowsword over the Baneblade because I'm after the TK. Just the Deathstrikes aren't enough as they're usually gone before they activate.
A cheaper mobile Storm Trooper option is tempting, but at the end of the day the regular infantry's autocannon wins out over the CC/FF bumps for me.
The only time I take SC is to drop, otherwise I consider them a waste of points whether they come in on turn 1 or turn 3, or at 2+ or 1+. I don't want to give up a formation on the ground.
I would consider swapping Bombards out for the Manticores if their range matched what it is in 40k and the fluff. At 45cm, I don't see the point. The garrison option is interesting, but can be neutralized by your opponent with their objective placement.
I take very few upgrades (tank squadrons included), mainly due to the high cost of IG base formations. The activation count is needed to win in my opinion.
