The only words to describe that truck thing are

Asstastic

Craptacular

The troops are very cool though.....seriously this is why you have a design team...you all come up with a uniform look that works and when some designer brings that to the meeting you politely tell him where it went horribly wron

BTW Militium Astra is the new official name of the Imperial Guard.

The troops are really, really nice. Love how they've made the armor look sort of medieval. The transport is lolwut. It looks like a Brinks armored vehicle. I suppose that may be the idea, but... yeah, the tracks don't work. Wheeled would have been better.

The Morrsi C8 might be the inspirational source:

I like berets ... I like armored trucks ... IMO GW is still over-the-top ... Always liked the Crassuss ... GW should wear masks and carry small arms when asking their prices ... :gah

That's just because GW can't Trademark "Imperial Guard" but they can Trademark a made-up faux-Latin name.

To me they will still be Imperial Guard.

And it is because they still think it matters. I look at these new toys wondering where the batteries go.

I like WFB but I do think that Scions have gone too far in that direction.

The Taurox is butt ugly as is- does look better painted in less garish, more muted colour scheme. I agree that my first thought when seeing it was it should be an Ork vehicle, or maybe Arbites. I can sort of see what they were trying to do. It is very reminiscent of many modern US army vehicles, with high ground clearance to avoid mines and improve off-road capability.

It is just to me that it does n't scream elite special forces transport to me. It looks more like transport suitable for militia forces or non-frontline troops.

I do think would look better either fully wheeled or half track.

I really don't understand this. What do they hope to accomplish?

Are they afraid someone may start making models with the words "Imperial Guard" on them? Stop worrying. People have been doing that for ages. (Largely in the historical section, but still….)

Are they afraid people may make sic-fi figures that can be *used* as Imperial Guard? They still can, no matter what you call your figures. You can't prevent other people from making "sic-fi soldier with a ray gun".

Are they afraid other people may make parts/figures advertised as "compatible with GW's Imperial Guard figures"? Didn't the Chapterhouse lawsuit just prove that people can still do that even with a unique new name?

This seems like a lot of time, effort, expense, and fluff-wrecking that changes absolutely nothing.

Besides, GW performed the cardinal sin of picking a new name that I can't say three times fast. So I'll keep using the old name. (How many times do you *really* say "Adeptes Astartes" in casual conversation?)

Godawful... All of them... I'm glad I don't play 40k anymore. That vehicle takes the cake though. If it was a few days later I'd call April fools...
