I played Saranes Expanse yesterady vs. Gazkhulls Orks with 52 Gun/flakwagons, 2 formations of bigshootas.

was a 4k game with a draw at the end of turn 4. It was a hard-fought battle. Orks had blitz, Saranes had TnH.

My list was:

Nice list! :)

It fits to the concept of no specialized units from SM line, just the basic ones! Literally it was a Steel Legion list with Tacticals, Devastators and Assault Marines :)

The problem starts when the more specialized units take part!

I must admit in Epic scale my personal feeling is that ALL Space Marine armies should be based around a Battle Company. At times I wished that EA rulebook army had to choose the equivalent if IG Company formations to unlock the choice of the equivalent of IG Support Platoons. That would cut down the amount of cherry picking of the best SM formations.

The 4K list above sounds like the sort of list that I would take. Start with 3K IG Steel Kegion list and then add SM Battle Company.

Might be harder to create a balanced tournament list though without limiting some of the better SM formations.

you could have a block battle company upgrade - it's actually 6 tiny formations, but can only be bought as a set to limit popcorning.

To drop units is better, than have everything in limited numbers/or to have a complicated army buliding process..

Yes for sure. So Units from SM, which I would keep:

Tacticals with all upgrades from the Marine list.
Devastators, same as Tacs.
Assaults should lose the LS Upgrades
Landspeeders can be a own formation like the Codex Marines one's.
Thunderhawks and Strike Cruiser.

I'm not sure about the SM tanks. Fluffwise, they need the landing barge IMO. So I'd drop them.
Also Termis.

This should keep the list in check.

Maybe drop lone Warhounds?

With AMTL be in approval process, I would shift my attention to this thing. I don't heard anything about the proposed changes above.

Wouldn't terminators, deathstrikes, Tank Co and artillery be a little to much awesomeness for 1 list??

Termies would be dropped, yes. But Deathstrikes, Tank Coy and Artillery to drop? Couldn't agree with that.

No, didn't mean that. I meant that all thoose in the same list would be a little to much. Thats why I think Terminators should be left out of the list. Sorty for being unclear.

Are you ACing this atm? Or going to give it to someone? Or is Chroma back?

This personally is one of my favorite lists but does need work. I plan to make a cross Imperial List later, similar to this but specialized in weapon options.

This lists needs steering or called inactive for now. Are there lots of other IG lists being worked atm?
