I'm at it again ;D

Snipers are universally known to be fillers in the Guard roster. And not very good ones at that.

Perhaps 2 for 25 points or 4 for 75 points would make them more viable.

Thoughts?

Two for 25 sounds nice to me.
No way they're worth their current price (same as eldar rangers, who also have the bonus of an extra activation).

they're the closest comparison in the game IMO. Bar that Eldar have some different special rules and SR 4/5 they're very similar.

Never had any luck attaching them to mech inf. They don't hit anything because they need 7's to hit normally, or they're engaging (Chimeras have armour, I love to engage with my mech inf) and so can't snipe.

Beefing out a formation to make it harder to kill better done with the Infantry Platoon upgrade first, better value, then support weapon units because they're better. :-)

Technically true, but sodding silly and in need of an Errata to count DC's as units for garrison purposes like what was done with Teleporting WE's, IMO.

It's almost like the designer saw the main issue with the steel legion ones' lack of utility and addressed it!

I like having a single sniper as an option, 3 forces you to buy an extra chimera to drive them around in....
