I'd go for option 3 - Base off the EUK (Or NetEA - they're very similar) list, but fix where it's obviously gone wrong.:)

By which I mean a more radical NetEA version, I guess, that is braver with the cost cutting on some of the worse formations. Arty Co's are not worth 600pts - They're perhaps worth 500pts, for example.

I have not had time to fully digest the respective differences, but I think this is an interesting approach Rug. I look forward to seeing the results.

I think a unified EUK-NetEA list has a lot to offer the community...

It doesn't offer the NetEA community a voice in design decisions however... NetEA community concerns about the list's balance would be entirely dependent on whether a few blokes in the north of england agreed with the worldwide majority sentiment.

*shrug*

Both lists still have useless formations, if adopting the EUK list meant that they'd get tackled, I'd be for it.

The 2012 compendium has been finalized, in terms of what changes are being introduced. We're only catching typos/errors at this point. For the 2013 compendium though your proposal still stands.

Whatever changes do make it in, I'd like to see some battle reports though. I'm also fine with the NetEA and EpicUK lists being different, if even marginally. It's the same for the Orks I believe.

Well, if there have been minimal points drops on certain Guard units (have not yet seen the diffs) I'd say stick with NetEA. It's your list afterall.... It's not like EUK lists get played worldwide all that commonly. I think I can safely vouch for most of the Aussies when I say we use NetEA at all our tournaments (well the ones I've run and been to anyway).

Make it your own mate. Carpe Diem and all that :D

The Net EA Compendium for 2013 has to have the Net EA SL list.

However I see no harm in the next say six months playtesting the EUK changes and seeing if they appeal to worldwide community.

It would be great in time if we can narrow the differences between EUK and Net EA but it has to be a 2-way process. It can't be simply be Net EA changing their lists to comply with EUK- it also had to involve EUK to make efforts to move closer to Net EA.

Cheers

James

That has already happened in a number of cases where EUk, TC + the ACs views have coincided.

Just wanted to chime in to echo this. It would be great if the two lists ended up identical, but there's a reason behind the distinction between the NetEA and EpicUK lists in general.

I'd echo the suggestion to playtest the EUK changes in the NetEA environment, and come up with any further adjustments together. If an agreement can't be reached, no problem – the lists can continue to be differentiated; but I applaud Rug's proposal to try :)
