That Heavy Bolter is mounted on one side of the main gun, 1mm or so away from it.

Google image search 'forge world Stormsword'.

Oh, you're right; and it's a pretty obvious spot. I was going through my friend's Imperial Armour book and it didn't show that angle. Thanks!

Now to figure out what to make Salamanders out of.

I've been looking at the 2014 NetEA Army List Compendium, and I'm wondering if I'm missing some details on the various tank types.

A Leman Russ Conqueror is the same points as a Leman Russ Exterminator, but the Exterminator is unquestionably better (an extra 2xAP5+ from the sponsons, and AP4+ rather than 5+ for the main gun).

The Conqueror also looks very weak compared to a regular Russ, losing the heavy bolter sponsors, 30cm main gun range and dropping from 4+/4+ to 5+/5+ on the main gun for only 10pts less.

Are any of these stats or points likely to change? I'm assembling a heap of tanks now, converting them into different varieties, but am a little disappointed that there is no reason at all to take Conquerors right now.

Conquerors trade weapons for speed (20cm v 30cm). You don't see them in line companies very much but they're great high speed blitz raiders in a 6 tank squadron (or two of them easily in 3k). I use them to great effect as a harassment force.

Thanks- I missed the extra movement. Unfortunate that they're not an option for Steel Legion armies- 3 could be added to a Mech Infantry company to boost the toughness but keep speed. 6 is a harder number of models to come by.

Controversial take: Leman Russ Destroyers and Hellhounds should be deployed as separate squadrons.
