Fixed. WS Terminator reduction is also in there now.

It doesn't look like the discount for pairs of Land Raiders and Vindicators made it into the Scion of Iron list.

Deliberate or oversight?

Given that the SoI list has all kinds of land raider variants, a different structure regarding land raiders, and with the agreement of the community is now officially frozen, no further changes of any kind will percolate through I'm afraid

- Land Raiders to 75pts each, 125pts for two
- Vindicators to 50pts each, 75pts for two
- Scouts sniper upgrade to 10pts per stand
- Land Speeder Typhoons to 10pts each
- Drop Whirlwinds to 275pts
- Thunderhawks to 1/3 air allowance
- Heavy Bolter Razorback to FF4+

I also submitted the following whitescars changes:

-Add Vindicators upgrade to Assault, Tactical and Terminator Formation
-Drop Bike formation to 325 points
-Swap Vindicator for White Scar Vidicator (30cm move, no walker)

please post your angry responses here ;)

Very good! I appreciate the changes.

By the way, is there any reason why Assault Marines (armed with Chainswords and Bolt Pistols) have FF 5+ while Chaos Space Marine Raptors operating the same equipment come with FF 4+? Anyway, I think the Assault Marines need some attention to render them attractive again.

Cheers!

Raptors have special weapon options, which is usually good for a FF bump in EA.

Ah, I see.

Well, maybee upping their formation size to 6 stands (for 225 pts?) like Tacticals would solve them better. At the moment I see no real point in taking them - besides fluff...

If you need a cheapish activation you just take Scouts which come with free Rhinos, can lay BM, are much better for area denial and even 25 pts cheaper. If you need something to hit hard in close combat you take Terminators, for FF Support you will go for Land Speeders. Assault Marines just seem to have no niche at the moment.

I approve of the changes generally and will enjoy trying them out eventually (my games nearly always are at Epic-UK tournaments these days).

Assault Marines can be decent in a Thunderhawk and are still regularly taken - having a quick look online at the SM army lists taken at recent Epic-UK tournaments (a great resource to see what people are using) the last 12 lists have taken 13 Assault formations.

Assault marines are always a difficult one, because they are still marines, you need a certain base cost to cover int1+, ATSKNF and their 4+ armour

I tried to make them a better option in the Blood Angels list by giving them 2xCC4+ attacks instead

That is too much of a deviation for existing assault marines but I could see them being trialled at 150pts

That would bring them back in line to Scouts and Bikes. I'd highly appreciate this.

I would hope that the costs would flow into finished lists. I can look into point structure if you want to match the updates for main marine list?
