So, it seemed that in his eagerness to tweak the SoI list, Argol managed to put a few noses out of joint in the process.... In the name of harmony within the community, and after discussion with Argol, my plan for the list is as follows: 1. Existing Scions of Iron list to be frozen as-is, no more tweaks, no nothing; it will remain as it is, in the TP as an approved list, that way those who love it as-is can continue to use it and those who don't can avoid it 2. Argol to develop a Scions of Iron - REDUX list based on the existing Scions list, all new developmental efforts will go towards this list, I like his vision and would hope that others consider supporting him in realising it as I do. As it will be based on an Approved list, I see no real issue with him starting it at developmental and working from there 3. After the Apocrypha of Skaros list is approved, this will become the de-facto 'Marine Armour List' and should hopefully settle future arguments about theme 4. in the distant future, maybe we can look to have the redux list supersede the SoI name, but generally that should not be required Thoughts? |

kyuss Very amicable. I think you have absolutely satisfied everyone's position with this decision. Kudos to you. I'm not really sure why a new development list could not just be called something else and the Scion of Iron list couldn't progress with tweaks that are being proposed for other Marine lists - but in the thoughts of the greater community I think you've balanced all views. Sounds sensible but im also not sure why the SoI name needs to be kept. it's a made up chapter anyway, so just make up a new one or grab a cannon one for new army revisions? |

Alright, In hindsight I might have been a bit a bit over enthusiastic when I started tweaking the Scions of Iron list. We had a short discussion on theme in the sub-AC thread, and I thought everyone agreed. Second mistake was to not start a discussion about scope of changes done to approved lists. Regarding the chapter name, I don't have a strong preference but the Scions of Iron has some history in the community... In my opinion too many approved lists is not ideal, as I think each list should have a unique style. Once the Apocrypha of Skaros list is approved hopefully everyone will have a list they are happy to play and the old SoI list could be superseded. |
