Hello everyone, thanks to the ERC for taking me on as space marines AC, I'd like to thank Jimmy for being supportive of development during his tenure, and I'd hope we can keep the momentum going with everything he's done!

Firstly I've taken a look at the big list of Marine lists and I'd like to get a roll call of sorts from the various subAC's to see how things are going, and whether they wish to continue with development or pass it on to someone else. I will be sending out PMs to hopefully nudge people along

As I see it, we've made good progress in recent years getting the Imperial Fists and Space Wolves approved, it would be nice to add some more first founding chapters to the approved section, as well as any others that are popular and justified (Black Templars for example)

I think we're almost there with the Raven Guard (I'll get my 6th test game played soon) so that will be an easy win to start my term off ;)

I'd like to see both the Blood Angels and Dark Angels get to NetEA approved status, however currently they need quite a bit of work, my plan is unless we have someone desperate to do it, to take on the Blood Angels development myself, re-structure things to bring the power level back in line with other marine lists, then try and grind them towards Approval by the end of next year. I shall also be poking Mard and the EpicAU fellas to push the Dark Angels list forward and open it up to the wider NetEA community, so we can get that to a position where we can get it in the tournament pack where it clearly belongs

Iron Hands, Black Templars and Minotaurs also need some love, I'll be nagging motivating Glyn and Apoc to work on getting them tested more soon

Thanks for reading, remember, NetEA is *Open Development* it's specifically intended for you to have your say, it's so much more productive to get involved early, have an influence on the direction of a list and assist in testing and balancing than sitting on the sidelines and waiting for others to push it forward, then whinging when it doesn't meet your expectations! there are no requirements for playtesters other than a willingness to play games and write about them honestly, we don't need everyone to be a tournament winning super gamer, we just need people who want to help!

Any thoughts about doing a "Primaris Marines" list?

aren't 'Primaris' Marines just truescale marines? I mean given how GW has treated AoS, my expectation is that soon all marines will be Primaris marines and the other kind will cease to exist.....

They're tougher statwise (2 wounds versus 1) and have different unit types.

Like their "Assault Marine" type unit would translate into Epic as a Jump Pack Firefight-biased unit.

Or their transport is some sort of hover tank.

Different stuff, anyway.

Good on ya, Kyuss.
Probably obvious but anything I'm denoted as being subAC on for Marine lists, other than Codex of course which is the AC's balliwick, means there's really no one running them as opposed to actually me ;)

That being said, I'd like to see about getting the Whitescars into something actually playable and perhaps push the theme a bit further. Failing that, the AoS Marine Tank list always held a special place in my heart, provided SK doesn't want to keep it (that and if you'll have me ;) )

Got a few ideas about BA I'll PM / FB you about for some thoughts. Might give you something to proverbially chew on.

As to primaris marines, I'd really suggest we just punt that into The Kitchen Sink. 2cents

Thanks in advance for the 6th RG report. I believe we need another group and a set of games to get the vote.

I've got the Marine army, so open for battle reports. The White Scar changes are pretty tame, I think a handful of games ought to cover them. Open for a VASSAL game Jimmy?

sure but i'm jammed packed till after this w/e (yom kippur). Mon/tuesday next week? I'm sure to give you an entirely disappointing time as I've not even played for two years (longer since regularly) as I live now in epic (TG gaming really) wasteland and my old group has ceased to exist :(

I have a tournament this weekend while we try and help grow the Sydney sene (madly painting SoB to finish my army), after that I'll send you the updated DA list to have a look at for your opinions.
We've reduced some of the special units again. Dropped back to one unique flier and restructured to be more open like the Imperial Fists and standard marines in choices.

White scars I'm interested in as an army, but just not really the current list. The transport restrictions are confusing so it doesn't come across as well thought out or polished, not enough bike options/flexibility and the best parts taken away. Will probably just play them as codex or dark angels, both of which can in many ways be more like a white scars list than the white scars list itself. That is, unless something changes.

Apoc and I did play a couple of games with the list a while back, but didnt keep notes (think they were against EUK lists anyway). I'll put some actual comments on the list from those games soon tho.
