Imperial Fists v0.3 vs Yme-Loc (EpicUK)

yes yes I know it's against an epicUK list, still better than nothing....

As I knew it was against Yme-Loc, I tweaked my list to remove the AA-only elements, I also tried a few fluff units like devs with land raiders.... and now realised I was 75 points over (confusion between the netEA and EpicUK prices, sorry mike!)

IF list:
Tacticals w/supcom
Devs w/land raiders + las razorback (BTS)
Devs w/land raiders
Vindicators
Pred Annhilators
Thunderfire cannons
Scouts
Scouts
Terminators
Thunderbolts
Tarantulas
Tarantulas

Eldar:
Mech guardians
Scorpions
Falcons
Falcons
Night spinners
Warp hunters
Warp hunters
Fire prisms
Hornets
Revenants

Turn 1
Marines won initiative, scouts doubled forwards, scorpions blasted 3 tarantulas, quite a few eldar formations refused to activate, the eldar got the better of the shooting in this turn, devs waited for targets of opportunity, tacticals pushed forwards, preds doubled up to hit a falcon formation and missed horribly, they were subsquently crossfired by hornets, BTS devs moved up and crossfired falcon formation, breaking them, revenants sprang forward and hit the BTS devs, both land raiders saved their macro hits and the razorback was the sole casualty

Turn 2

Terminators teleported to threaten revenants, grant devs a crossfire on them, and also to threaten the scorpions, Eldar summoned avatar on other flank. marines won initiative, devs sustained to prep revenants for a terminator assault and managed a 2 points of damage and 2 crits! blowing one up... the other revenant legged it away, the terminators then gunned down the nightspinners on a retain, scorpions doubled up to shoot the BTS devs, blowing up both land raiders in a crossfire. On the other side, the mech guardians engaged the scouts, wiping them out but taking a few casualties in return, Avatar retained and engaged the other devs, who promptly critted the beast before any support fire could be dragged in. Second scout formation engaged guardians and completely whiffed their attacks, luckily the supporting devs killed and broke the guardians, the devs then sustained on some nearby warp hunters, reducing them to a single model

Turn 3

the fire prisms sustained on the terminators who saved, and then moved to shoot some broken falcons. The scorpions moved to contest blitz but failed to finish off the BTS formation, thunderfires broke the scorpions in return, most of the eldar formations were broken at this point, so the tacticals nabbed a T&H objective, while the scouts marched to grab the eldar blitz, I was then able to grab all the objectives in my half for a 3-0 win with T&H, Blitz and DTF

Thoughts:

The Yme-Loc list suffers greatly from their essential formations being both expensive and fragile, this neccessitates taking many small formations to boost activation count, killing and breaking them won me the game

from the IF side, nothing felt overpowered, the upgraded devs were great, a bit more resilient than usual, and quite a lot more shooty, I'll be trying this formation out again! vindicators were their usual impotent selves, preds had some bad luck, the turrets were again very good, although mike had the range to hit them where they couldn't hit back, he still avoided the second objective as 4x AT4+ shots are scary to fragile skimmer units

I have to say, the IF list works really well as mud marines with some defences, I've had good results when using them like that, much better than going siegework-heavy

will try a siegework heavy list next time

(IF 0.3 Group 1)***Not sure if this will count however due to vs EUK....

Nice but this game is already included in my post a little bit above.
