I'm sorry, but I do not interpret it that way.

First of all, terminators do not come in units of two and it makes no sense to only be able to pick up a unit when it is down to 50%.

Second, the listing for Thunderhawks quite clearly states that terminators take up two slots due to their bulk. The Storm Eagle quite clearly does not state this limitation, leading me to conclude that a Storm Eagle can transport four termies.

More than likely I just renamed the Caestus and forgot to update the transport note for it. It should be 4 infantry; bikes, assault and terminators count as two units each. You effectively can't transport those formstions in a tournament game.

robbypk, as Dave noted Termies take up 2 slots. This is absolutely a case of a typo. Also lets not forget that they can only carry 10 terminators in 40k as well. I should also point out that I was the first to add the Storm Eagle into a list so I kinda speak from experience with the unit ;)

Dave, I'm seeing these used as the spec ops insertion craft instead of the pound-hammer that the termies+assault rams were of yesteryear (so much better in a siege assault list than here). It's interesting to note that the fluff states the RG actually had a special variant of the Storm Eagle. Not sure if there's anything of use with that. Regardless, good call, mate. Also unless we name this, "RG Storm Eagle", she should have the standard note of "a storm eagle counts as single war engine for transport purposes" we've already got on the unit in other lists and use on things like the assault ram and tbrick transporter. While loading up termies isn't a thing here, I have to think towards the future in other lists and the presence of this handles this across any list we create (even if you can't do it here).

I think a note like that belongs on the army list like the ones for Ork fortresses and Tau Tigersharks/Drones. as it has more to do with formations.

This looks fun … might need to add some RG type units to my BT!

Given how easily I lose Thawks im not sure I can be trusted with storm eagles, but they look so fun …

They are fragile, for sure. I've used them for extraction after a drop pod assault and then air assaults in later turns. I've yet to try an out-right air assault on turn 1.

not wanting to go OT, but doesn't that cause you more work in the TP? That's a time saver in my understanding. If not, we're all golden. :)

It's negligible, given the rate at which new lists are being added.

table entry does not list any of the vangaurd/sternguard infantry types as being drop pod-able – is this correct?

(would make sense as vanguard veterands are the *perfect* drop pod cargo otherwise, just checking …)

I'll have to put "counts as tactical units..." notes for them then, the vets can drop.

EXPECT....to see me do an all-out air assault with RG on turn one......just not against you, Dave.

It may not be the smart thing to do, but in my mind at least for one game, it will sure as hell be the fun thing to do!

......playing "Ride of the Valkyries" all during turn one.

So I've had a read through of the list, are there any particular things/builds that you want testing Dave? Hoping to rope all 3 of my regular group in so we can churn out a good number of reports against a variety of armies

is the lack of 'plus transport' on the scouts intentional?
at present the only way to get them a ride is to pay for LS storms, but the formation still costs the same as codex, which gets 'free' rhinos

I just noticed that the sternguard veterans are cc3+ and the vanguard veterans are cc4+. Should this be the other way around?

Vanguard's have an EA MW.

It is Apoc, Neal had them without Rhinos. Given the cheaper activations I've added I've kept them at 150 despite the lack of Rhinos.

Ambush should be run through the ringer. That and perhaps massed Storm Eagles. I did plenty of drop playtests with planetfalling speeders.
