For Wh40k there is planned a "Cofex Apocalypse" which allowes you to field armies over 3000pts in WH40k.
For this Codex each race will bekome a new superheavy vehicle for WH40k.

Confirmed are the Baneblade for Imperial Guard and the Stompa for Orks.

Rumours say the Necrons will bekome some kind of giant TombSpyder called a Crypt Stalker.

How do you like the idea of the CryptStalker?

Sounds cool.

Where'd you hear about this? So they're going to make super-heavy plastic models for 40K?! That's a suprise... Any idea what's for SM or CSM?

DO you know what the nids get? (since we are already allowed to take super heavies)

We get to pay for FW models! :p

(I say 'we' because Nids got me into tabletop wargaming, and they're still my first love despite concentrating on AMTL for epic. ?But I digress...)

Did I hear rumours of a plastic stompa accompanying the next Codex: Orks?

EDIT: And I digress again.

So.  Cryptstalker.  I think it's a safe bet that it'll be some kind of skimmer.  Wouldn't it be fun if it turned out to be a walker, though...?

Sounds cool... If a little odd. Doesn't sound like they're adding much 'new' to the game except for the folks who don't already have super-heavy units which fit though. I'd put my money on the Pylon for the Necrons though. Since there's already working stats for it AND a model existing for it, so it'd cost GW next to nothing to work it into a core 40K supplement and claim it as an 'official' item in that setting.

If they did get a giant spider I'd be a bit surprised... Those things are essentially repair-drones, not combat-bots. I'd be more expecting to see something akin to a giant necron  warrior. Knight-sized necron with huge guns. Which would be both awesome and fun to see. Or even just a bigger, better, tougher Monolith would be cool. Don't really like the idea of a giant tomb spyder though.

Again, you got a source for these rumours, BL?

This seems rather unlikely - large plastic models are very expensive, and one for each race larger than anything they've done before... It's also a bit wierd in that GW have stayed away from super-heavies in 40K.

I'm not really clued up on the latest developments in 40K anymore, but this sounds a bit like someone's pulling your leg, and I've not seen anything about it anywhere else...

I too would like to hear more. Can you point us toward where this rumor came from?

The rumors are from this thread on Warseer:

http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43242

They're supposedly going to tie in with the Warhammer 40K: Apocalypse rulebook which is allegedly a rulebook for larger-than-normal games, including super-heavies.

Why they need a book for this when Forge World's got 8+ books and updates on this is beyond me.

So.... someone read a story, thought it would be cool, said so, others joined it to discuss what they thought it would be, and there is not real source for all this conjecture.

Well, because when it comes to making balanced rules, FW is to GW as GW is to some company that makes good rules.

As for the crypt stalker, I'd bet it's a giant floating millipede, because I've been pushing for a giant floating necronesque millipede for forever, and I'm also dillusional. Basically, I'm imagining a multisegment body, with each segment resembling a tomb spider.

GW intend to produce super-heavy class models for 40k in plastic at some point, but it's unlikely to be soon.

The Necron super-heavy rumour has come from a bit of fluff written for the Medusa V campaign, and is almost certainly either irrelevant, or long-term seeding at the most.

The concept sketch done for the plastic Stompa looked very cool though.

But anyway, the long-rumoured 'apocalypse' suppliment is not on the latest 2-year plan that I've seen. That doesn't mean plastic super-heavies won't be appearing during the next two years, but it does mean that they havn't got a currently-planned release date.

But why let any kind of facts get in the way of some real fun rumors?
