I'm using something like that for my Exodites. From the Micromachines Star Wars line ... ;D

I found these while searching Thingiverse to see if anyone had already done a Warbarque.

Being 3D models, I can actually play around with sizes a bit as well. Of course I also found these which makes me kind of want to start a dark Eldar force:

I think I have a problem

It's been a long time since I posted any updates on the warbarque I was building. Mostly I just ran out of ideas for what I needed after the rear obelisks to show some kind of heavy weapon and bulk things out. Not sure I'm totally sold on this, but it's a start. :)

I'm liking it Vaaish,

It really just needs the guns.

I'd be happy to make a test print for ya...

hehe... well, it's really not going to have much in the way of visible guns outside of the two orb style ones on the rear. Those aren't near finished right now, just something there for reference as I was blocking in the rest. I preferred Necrons when their tech was a bit more mysterious and alien to the more grounded stuff we have now so I have most of the smaller weapons firing from the slits on the various pylons.

Here's an update with more finished sides and rear. I still need to work out the side cannons and plates.

@oracle: What resolution is your printer?

Cool,

I didn't even see those guns from the first angle. I think I might end up liking yours better than the Shapeways one in that case. You don't see the guns on most of their Heavier equipment.

I'll repeat my offer though. I'm willing to print a sample or two for you if I can print a couple for myself as well. I've been messing around with printing some IG stuff and Titans I found on line, but haven't really gotten up to speed on the design side of the hobby yet...

Oracle, that really depends on the resolution of your printer. The panel lines go down to .2mm

100 microns, 0.1mm resolution Monoprice Mini.

It's nothing special and I'm still learning, but I've printed some Leman Russ tanks that are pretty fiddly. The only problem I've had is with Exterminator barrels and larger overhangs. You might be better of with Shapeways for your final pieces, but it should be good for a test or two.

Cool. I'll keep that in mind I shouldn't have anything with significant overhangs despite how it may look and the cannons on the rear are goingto be fairly solid.

Here's a shot with a test for them and some changes to their mounts after I started adding detail. :)

Slow day today so I had some free time to finish out the warbarque. I still need to attach everything, boolean it together and hollow out the bottom but that should go relatively quickly.
