Should Living Metal be changed so that it no longer ignores Macro Weapons?

And 8 metalcurry which if I understand it would be "other(discuss below) " yeah which is neither. I think the point is rather that there's no clear mandate for anything.

That kinda describes this entire process. It's frustrating. Because I don't think the list is as good as it should be.

In the current iteration of Wh40k Living Metal only gives a 2+ Save against "Crew Shaken" (=can't move next turn)results and a 4+ Save against "Crew Stunned" (= can't move and can't shoot next turn).

Daemon Engines in Wh40k ignore "Crew Shaken" and get a 2+ Save against "Crew Stunned" . They have an Invulnerable Save in Epic.
Perhabs this is the way to go?

I'm voting no. The old list plays well for the most part and LM modifications aren't going to help the few things that are wrong with the list. Fluff wise, the list is designed for old Necrons and that's okay. We're not keeping up with the GW Joneses. We had no real reason to do it before and since they've abandoned us we have even less reason to do it now.

This is an astute observation. The Necrons just play weird, having a limited number of ways to play any list, but also have this incredible solidity to them while being at times too rigid in their deployment. The end result is sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug. I don't have a problem with that.

Good point.

Levels which basically ensure nothing ever changes, especially with the small voting numbers, so problems are never addressed and people get frustrated and discussions get heated or everybody loses interest

Get more data then. Run a contest for the best batrep involving the Necrons - no limit on the number of entries and judging is done by you. Sacrifice a few bucks and offer the winner a bag of Edenite warriors or other Necron proxy. The few bucks will be an investment in your sanity.

At the end of the day you need to make a judgment call. I've run polls before only to say "damn the numbers, my gut is right." But you have to balance that against making changes for change's sake. You are the Army Champion and it is your decision.

My gut tells me that new LM is a better rule...but as I'm a bit unsure of if Necrons are fine, underpowered or overpowered, I'm hesitant. It would be a nerf, albeit not as big as you could think.
