I use fairy power spray, although it's pretty expensive

I've also used the ultrasonic cleaner method which was fantastic, I let the bits soak in fairy for a few days then bunged them in the ultrasonic cleaner at work for 10 mins, it probably took 90% of the paint off, although it vibrated my FW reaver to bits in the process.....

I use the power spray on metal - will it work on plastic and not damage it? This would be on my imperator so of course don't want to wreck it.

My plastics took no damage whatsoever with Fairy Power Spray.

yup, fairy power spray is safe on FW resin, I've stripped plenty of resin stuff with it

I have a few different eras of plastics to get stripped, and having read through I've more or less decided upon trying Simple Green (when I'm in the US) and Fairy Power Spray (if I can find it, when I'm in the UK). I just want to confirm Fairy Power Spray is still the product of choice, or find out if anyone has any new up-and-comers to suggest (or to warn me about, if Fairy turned villain and changed their formula or product names).

Any suggestions would be most gratefully received. Thanks!

Hi!

If your in the US, super clean (used to be castrol super clean). You can get it at autozone or ace hardware store.

I have been currently testing it and the stuff is awesome. It has replaced my first choice which was easy oven cleaning spray.

Yeah that stuff is good too. Seems to be more forgiving on plastics from a subjective perspective

I highly recommend Simple Green. I use it all the time.

Hi!

Really?

I have used it in my test and found it to be not very good.

Are there specific types?

Hey there everyone.

SO i've been going through this thread, along with many others from many other forums trying to find the best method for me.

I really struggled with everything except for Antiseptic Disinfectant (more commonly known as Dettol). So if anyone is interested here is the tutorial I made on how to do it effectively:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKoJ2eTIPr4

EDIT: All of course done with 6mm minis!

Here's a vote for Super Clean. It cleaned up early plastic Rhinos and Falcons, Squats on bases, metal squat and E40K-era Eldar tanks, a titan and half a dozen Thunderbolts absolutely beautifully. Even with two days in the goo, I can report absolutely no damage to any models whatsoever, it even took models off their bases beautifully (and left the bases spotless). The one issue I found was in shifting a strange ultramarine blue paint - it's not enamel, but the stuff just will not be moved. A shame, as all my second-hand SM bikes are covered in the stuff. Another dunk for them, I think.

Hi!

I've had some plastic infantry soaking in them for more then 2 months. No damage to them and the paint just literally has fallen off.
