just a quick update, I have recently been experimenting with some golden yellow colour schemes for my Imperial Fists.... having recently obtained some fancy new infantry models, I've been playing around with how to paint them, I was particularly impressed with Dr Faust's take on them, and thought I might try and replicate his look (link opens youtube video)

After multiple test stands I've ended up with this scheme which I'm more or less happy with:

I started with a coat of vallejo white primer, then a thinned coat of P3 Khador Red Highlight, then it was onto the drybrushing.... an overbrush of P3 heartfire, followed by P3 Cygnus Yellow, a wash with AP soft tone, then a drybrush with Cygnus Yellow again, then a light drybrush with P3 Jack Bone.... Sounds arduous but if you were batch painting the army, you could probably get the yellow done in a single evening

I expect painting in all the shoulderpads and guns will be the real time-sink....

continuing the yellow theme, I finally broke the habit of the last few months and got some painting done, making a start on my bad moons army/contingent, here's a few WIP shots

the genesis of my replacement stompamob, these metal figures are just awesome and full of a character later GW sculpts seem to have lost, I'm also hoping to get hold of a second mk1 stompa to complete the old-skool stompamob

The bad moons need some 'Ardwagons to drive them round in, this was a test model, needs some more work but happy with the scheme so far

The Imperial fists look awesome, such a shame they did not all have beady helmets, the rocket launcher chap looks an amazing mInature !
