This will be a long and slow project considering how long it took me to make my Skull Mountain, as I'm making the Ork army at the same time.

I got this 40K Ork Stompa for Father's Day... 2015! Rather than ponder on how to use it, I decided to mock up the concept. So with some blue-tak and sticky tape (how Ork mek's does it), I started this off. I have a couple of boxes and bubble foam to start looking at what-else to add to the mockup.

Skull mountain was in total 40cm tall. Luckily this one is ~30cm tall as I didn't want it to be taller than the mountain.

Plans for this include;
Race track for speed freaks (likely underground)
Mek factory for Gargants
A crane of some sort
Runway or some launch pad for my planned ork air fleet

Any ideas or thoughts?

This is ridiculous.

(Ridiculous is an ork word for awesome, right! :P )

I love to see projects that go high in epic, I never understood why everyone makes terrain so small/short. I get most terrain needs to be playable, but it seems like wasted space, when you can go up, up, up on these kind of projects! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this- idea stealing mode activated! ;)

Madness. Utter madness.

...I want it.

Put the gargant head on the crane and have it being built while other Meks charge about on the soopa-kustom speedas, trying to be the next Orkton Senna. :D

I like the idea of it being a folly, like a mad warboss who wanted to make, right, like... get dis, a mega MEGA /MEGA/ gargant, wot is full uv gubbin's an' fixin's an' dat...

And by the time it's about half finished, the Imperial Guard has already arrived and it stands as a terrain piece, dwarfing the Mega Gargants and Titans fighting around its feet...

Thanks for the interest/response.

This is going to be difficult, as I already running out of space. Need to somehow work out how to add some layers so I can display more Orks.

Ork Stompa - rear is hollow without back panel. Plan to build a boiler and some stuff inside.
Stompa Head - Ork War-boss to stand on top. Hence won't be hanging from the crane.
Stompa Body - Will have smaller anti-air turrets. Walk-ways and lookout towers to make it look epic.
Top-Left - Mek Bay. The tall thin box will be the tall crane. Think may make a Killa Kan shelf!
Bottom left - Two Gun tower forming the front gate... with no gate.
Main Road - Where the trucks are will lead underground.
Front of Stompa side of road - Fuel Station.
Top Right - More buildings. Planning to be hollow so I can have some trays of Orks ready to be deployed.
Right Side - Air strip and hangers. Not sure whether to have a ramp over the front wall or not.
Under the Stompa - The speed freak race track.

Hi!

What about getting some hard foam and cutting the shape of the Stompa into it? You could make it as part of the remains of the ROK that smashed into the planet that part the Ork invasion came from. Perhaps build it up and add in an Orky Mekboy Gargant faktory, a styalized landin strip, and add a few gunz for defense of the whole fortress. It would be a nice corner setup piece for the table!

Nice idea for terrain piece, but not practical for this project. This is another Army on Parade piece, so need to be able to pack as much Orks as possible on this square foam. Similiar to my Tyranids on Parade http://lexcore.weebly.com/tyranids-parade.html

Going to shorten my air strip and add a ramp. I'm planning to install a traktor cannon on either side, to slow down landing crafts and it can also swivel to propel off the ramp too!

Gives me more space to make a wall and add orks on top.

Not seen this before...

But this is freaking awesome.

Reminds me of all the cool Epic Ork terrain from WD that I fell in love with back in the day...

Good work/ideas so far mate

Made this with a two year old son on my lap playing with the rest of the Stompa head pieces.

All sections now have magnets so the three pieces (two glued together) snap together nice and cleanly. Not sure whether to stick the paired to the base yet.

I doubt Ork write English, but I thought I'd stick a salvaged "Exit" sign upside down for a laugh.
