This is my second topic covering an Epic army I'm building - although it is in fact the first Army I built.
My previous topic - and second army is listed below.
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29225I kind of fell into the Necrons by accident. I didn't really like the game 40k, and had no intension of ever building an army for it, but when a few of my mates were playing it constantly it seemed like the only way I was going to get a game in. So I followed suit into 40k. Knowing what a soul less beast GW is, I decided whomever I chose had to have few miniatures, plenty of cheaper proxies, and be readily available on ebay. Thus, I became the Necron player.
When I started building an Epic force for the first time, It seemed only logical to build what I had in 40k. I had no idea how it worked or what it did, just built it.
The rules I set myself for the epic army were;
Again - 1. easily proxie'd, 2. easily painted, and 3. not requiring toooooooo much of an investment. (I through that last rule out the window myself almost immediately).
Most of the figures in my Necron force have been coming from two main sources - Spartan games & Steel Crown. I had a large collection of Spartan DW Covenant land units, and it seemed only logical to use these to build my epic force, as I had no other use for them. I wanted the army to look different to every other Necron force, whilst still maintaining the shambling robot theme.
Paint wise - It had to be quick, and it was only painted to a gaming level. The more recent armies get more love, but this was purely to get it on the field fast.
That being said, there is still a lot sitting in the box waiting for paint, including all the WE.
