I’ve used Golden Fiber Paste with some success for thin/flush bases. I apply it with a sculpting tool. I’m not sure how different it is but I’ve never had huge problems keeping it contained. It’s also a large enough tub to do several hundred bases.

For thicker bases (like my own OTC) I prefer Golden Coarse Pumice Gel.
