Cheers!

Just a little update.
I have made up some magnetic 40mm bases for the skimmers. I think they look better on bases, and as they are magnetic I can remove them if I need to.

Adios.

Those jetbikes look wild :)

Great work.

BTW - on the basis that you are in Australia, and are Matty_C, are you Matty Cole?

Cheers everyone.

Negative on Cole. C is for Clifford.

A small update. I'm having fun with magnets and titans. Here you can see that I'm magnetising the weapons on the phantoms/warlocks.
I've also magnetised the heads so if I ever get another phantom head I can run two phantoms or one and one warlock.
Note that I've also put some bigger magnets in the ankles, so I can remove the base for storage and transport.

So another little update. With magnets.
Can't wait to paint these ones up.

Also if anyone has the other phantom head lying around and don't think they'll use it then let me know! ;)

I did a little more work on the future space elves last night.
I have a small number of aspect warriors with me, with the bulk of them in storage 2000km away.

I decided to paint up what I had with me.
Image
There are only two bases of each type; hawks, scorpions, banshees and reapers.
I added an exarch to one base of each type, but kept them removable with magnets so I have plenty of choice as to where the exarch goes.
I chopped the wings off the reaper and banshee exarchs. On a whim I left the wings on the scorpion one. Must almost be an autarch, that fella!

Image
I'm not sure when I will get my hands back on the ones in storage.
I have 20 of each, which I can turn into 6 bases, plus some magnetised ones to replace exarchs.
One thing I am noticing on these models is that the base rims should be finished in black. I might do that when it's convenient.

I definitely like the black base rims - when I add magnets to my bases I'll certainly be going through and blacking the sides of everything. Yeah, they don't melt into the scenery then and do look more like game pieces than simulations of armies, but I think that it just makes them look so crisp and visually appealing.

Thanks everyone.
I'm working on the titans now. It is very slow going. I forgot how many gemstones these things had!

Still early days but you get the idea.
Adios.

Some more wip on the titans.

The red is pretty much done. The pale bits will be white. The brown bits will be bone. The gems will be green, and there will be blue bits on the guns. Plus the freehand symbols. Should keep me busy for a few more evenings yet.
:)

The titans are looking good - really nice transitions between the shades of red. The rest of the army is great too!
