I had these finished back in April, but I forgot to post them while I was really under the weather. I was disappointed that the banner was slightly ruined by the ink on the back soaking through in to the yellow, which has been imposable to cover up with paint. But its not noticeable from a few inches away, so I will keep it, but I would like to make this unit again and do a better job of them.

I have quite a few fantasy vermin almost ready but they were one thing that got pushed back when I was ill, and I ended up forgetting about them in favour of the sci-fi vermin. But I will probably take a holiday later in the year and spend the whole week finishing them.

Such a great old school WHFB vibe. It's like the Oldhammer movement, but in 6mm! :)

Thanks guys, I spent ages trying to get the banner right, and got quite annoyed with it by the end! Your comments let me take a step back and actually enjoy the finished item again!

I wanted to do something slightly different this weekend. Though I don't have the models for a whole army I had the image for a English Horse Lord queen in my head, and I wanted to try and paint something a little brighter. I have been working on the horde of rats and was sick of brown and brass. I apologise in advance, Just as I was taking the photos the house was dropped in to total darkness as a wild storm appeared! But after spending a few hours on this one I wanted to at least show it off!

I tried to go a little overboard with her base too, as I rather enjoy decent basing in fantasy, and if I paint any more mud this weekend I was going to go insane!

Decided to spend last weekend remaking my goblin town walls, as I can paint a little better then last time, had some much nicer basing materials and really enjoy killing off my hands by cutting up all those sticks! (ok, maybe not that last bit!) Also cleaned up and painted the first of the buildings

This weekend I decided that I wanted a wolf den/kennel to go with the buildings:

Brilliant terrain. Historicals for Humans is an excellent way of getting a decent size varied force.

Thanks everyone, I do read all the comments, and they meant a lot when I was poorly!
I know this is a sci-fi centric forum, but I do think that its good to share both, especially as so much is usable in both themes!

Not done as much work on any thing fantasy compared to my sci fi, but they are always there in the background being worked on!

Some PiP stuff, and another finished terrain piece!

Image
Lacked a gobbo wizard in the army so made one from a character mini and gave him two little snotie helpers! I did want to add some mushrooms to the base but I completely forgot, but now I have brought a dremel I can cut through the base and add some! (They are based on some heavy metal and I just couldnt drill through by hand with messing up the base!) If not I can always make him again as I have lots of this mini!
Not a great photo but I couldnt get his face and ears lit up no matter how hard I moved him!
I love his little mushroom pouch on his side, it came out really well even if no one will ever see the highlights! haha!

Image
My Chaos dwarves needed some more work, as I have an armies worth of gobbos now but no enemies for them to crush! This mighty dark darrow warrior has traded some precious gems of great value to a chaos sorcerer to create a guard of stone and earth! These Golems are from the microworld range and they are fantastic little minis! I will be ordering many more of these so I can make many more units in all sorts of earth-y styles!

Image
And a little farm from the gobbo town. It fits in with all the other terrain but this one is from irregular. Very cheap, but needs a lot (and I mean a lot!) of cleaning up before it is in a paintable state! The mold lines are huge! But well worth the price, and they fit really well with all the resin stuff from leven minis! I would like to add some little pumpkins (gobbos favorite food after mushrooms and squiggly beasts and dwavren ale!) but Ive not found anything of suitable size as of yet, but keeping my eye out for some beads or some sort of round thing!

Set out to loads this weekend and instead have done very little!
But did manage to get some more work done on the wood elves treeman, and build a great eagle for them. I dont think I will add any other figures to the treeman, but I will try to have some forest basing. I'm thinking of giving him blue glowing eyes if I can get it to work on a such a small area. I will be adding tons of greenery to him once he has had a couple of coats of matt.

Last minis of 2014-first minis of 2015!

Need to finish off the basing between the actually stands, and the banner needs to be painted red, but I need to trip into town for some more red first but otherwise they are finally complete! A horde of Skaven slaves, with movement tray. I might add a warpstone glow to the bell as well, but will wait to see how it looks with the banner done first as I dont want to go overboard. I have a large picture that really shows the details off, if anyone wants I can post it, but it will probably break the forum page!

Image

Image
Skaven slaves led by warlock and his pet. Best part about this army is most things will work for both my sci-fi and my fantasy armies at this scale with no need to change anything. Which meant as I already have a pile of rats painted for my sci-fi, my skaven force is now double the size with no more effort!

Image
Skaven clash against the goblins!

not sure what I will do next. I am thinking a small goblin infantry diorama, or maybe some goblin artillery. I have some more rat minis half painted but again, need to pop in to the dreaded GW for more red.

Happy new year!
