i think the Nephilim is finished, the clear canopy is really hard to do! i really hope to get better at it. it gets covered in residues, and the joins are terrible! looks like an old defunkt split screen car from the 60's. it looks kinda steamed up...

some detail on the Dark Talon attempted...

the second two Nephilims have longer bodies, the first is a shortie... perhaps it is more manurverable

descovered that if i stuff green stuff up my lolly stick and jab it with tweezers, i can pull out the rotor nozzle and put nice marks into the GS that represent the blades of the rotor, happyness.

next up will be the 2 heavy landspeeders and an attempt at the Chaptor Mastor on a huge jet bike. tempted to cut up some BFG escourts for the jetbike...

finished Nephilin Figher. several errors but ok. i tried to move the avenger mega bolter but it collapsed, having stuck it back together the barrels don't line up, so it looks like it is firing with a recoil mechanism. quality = attention span / little time

i got some charactors and landspeeders from Grandma Wendy the other day. the speeders are at 3/4 scale and the casting of the charactors and some faces and helmets are poor. at £0.40 a figure these are some of the most expensive 6mm around, and not the best. some of the poses are about 15 years old. I was a bit surprised. (shrug) beggers and choosers

The dark talon tomb was out of scale, so i have re-started it. i need to figure a better way of doing the canopy... and the lolly stick engines are too thick, need to get some plastic dowling. i'll try to finish the talon in next few days...

The Naphalin Fighter came out fantastic!
Both scratch-build and paint job!

Not much action with me (Flue), talon is comming along and the Nephilin's are progressing. one with twin Las and the other with an avenger mega bolter. shame the missles are underpowered in the rules, but the flyers are quite cheap points wise, around 200pts.
always disliked the plastic SM bikers, so took a knife to 2, and added legs. the guy on the left has a power sword. the green stuff plasma tallons could be better, but should paint up nicely. suppose i need another 10 or so for the knights and 10 for the ravenwing... thats a lot of cutting! i should be able to cut some in three and make up some HH jetbikes, huzzah. the HH bikes look arse too me, but kinda like the old plastic Epic model. will have to make a HH Fellblade soon...

Hi Barn, thanks for comments guys.

stick down on 7mm square sign writers magnet
undercoat black
paint eyes red
white coat leaving black edging, on knees , helmet, feet and pads, gloves
Snot green( this is to match the IA book pictures and to differentiate between my Mantis, DA and Salamanders chapters) i'm painting DA in DA green with snot green highlights, and Salamanders in Goblin Green. these should all turn out a few shades lighter than 28mm figs should be.
yellow pads - 2 coats probable
green, dull gold or silver pad edges, for that " we don't get resupplied so much" look
silver drybrush over bolter
0.1 marker mantis symbol on left pad, squad markings on right pad
red dot eyes on mantis symbol

i hope this is in some way helpful :)

Lovely looking stuff you have there L. Was great to catch up @ Counterattack recently

The Storm Eagle and Nephilim Fighters are great! Looking forward to further updates. You've inspired me to start converting/building stuff again.

thanks BB, it was great talking to you. loved your conversions too :)

been thinking about doing AC and WE armies for a while, and it occured to me that they might look very similar in 6mm, which they don't.
I like the Warseers chapter colours, so will probably do a 1500pt 40K army with them at some point.

used my super fine pen on the Wraithguard and the dots ont he Fire Dragons helms. bases still need Miliputing and painting.
