Ok the stupid filler is finally dry enough to sand (damn humidity) but before I go any further I want to ask if I should kep the radar tower or not on the right elevated position? (the left is an ammo dump) |

What are you intending to use this piece for? |

Yeah no context on that one was there? Had described this in someone else's thread not here I realized! Anyways... Going to be a scenery piece for some sort of imperial strong point. It can double use it as an Imperial Fists Firebase as well I figure. Lastly it'll do fine as a good blitz objective or other just interesting terrain piece (obviously in the latter we'd Count-as ruins or something else agreed upon) The lower edge will be a defensive line of old FW bunkers and razorwire strung between them. The center will have some vehicle pits dug out of it (plasticard + filler goodness). The back will have some ammo dump in the raised protected area on the left. The right side I had originally intended to use as the Radar site but now I am not so sure. This has the added bonus of getting rid of extra crap I have laying around in the resin pile |

What you describe then gives you a multi use terrain/objective piece so i would leave it on. You could always leave the radar unglued and just put it on when you feel the need. |

First of all sorry for shitty cell phone pics. Will have to take some properly lit later. Initial work on the fire base is done. I'm waiting on some sandbags to add before I put any scrub vegetation around and add some razor wire to the front. I went with moredakka and rastas idea about not mounting the bunkers so I can use them variably in games.. Attachment: Had much fun with the little ammo dump in the back, especially the cammo tarp. Attachment: Worked with a slightly differing paint style this time around that is quite noticable in the rocks. Instead of like colors close on the color wheel I went for something closer to two tone with a dramatic shift. The effect is that it gives and almost cell-shaded feel to the surface. So for instance on the rocks it was based with Khemri Brown and then the leading edges were done in a wet brush with thinned deneb stone with no intermediate color. I then blended it a bit with a sepia wash. When dry I went over the the sharp edges with straight deneb stone. Similar approach was done on the fabricated panels but with Catchecan green and then Cammo green and brow wash. Don't think I'll keep doing too many with this but it does have a fun cartoony look that made me smile a bit. Attachment: Updates when I get the sandbags (hopefully this weekend!) |

Ordinatus Dillenus- An unboxing Got this fun package today from the master of the forge. Note the use of up-cycled materials. I approve: The mechanicum does not waste Attachment: The thing has a good weight to it for being a single model. Not as heavy as an S-Class Tank, but still substantial Attachment: Here's parts arranged. Much detail and plenty of ohhhhsss and ahhhhhhhhhhhss to be had looking at them. I direct the viewer to the section outlined in red. This is a re-used Shapeways bag. It tells me someone is testing masters. What new equipment will be consecrated for use by the Machine God next?
