The Cadian 4th Assault Army took the brunt of the early fighting in establishing the landing zones and breakout in Warzone Patsayev. The highly trained crews of the attendant Leman Russ Tank Hunter (destroyer) squadrons were instrumental in providing long range anti-armour firepower, ambushing enemy armoured columns from prepared hiding positions. Their ability to effectively destroy targets from long range makes them prime targets, with enemy tank crews valuing confirmed Destroyer kills more than other vehicles. This squadron is equipped in the typical Cadian style with Stygies VIII pattern vehicles pictured in a prepared defensive position utilizing ruins and optical camouflage netting to avoid detection.Attachment:

painters notes:Oh god have I grown to HATE Foreworld epic models. These are from some of the very last runs of Destroyers made and once I cleaned them up, it really was apparent. All sorts of miscasts and just unfixable crap (well at least with any good ROI). If I had realized that I would have absolutely have not sold on my fan-made Mars Alpha ones a few years back. So what to do when you have a crap model? Add camo netting and hull down position of course!
Since these don't fit with the core of the force they're painted up in Cadian livery in order to match the campaign background fluff we had. AP Uniform Grey base with a simple addition of old GW Catachan Green hatches which helped to hide the miscasts on doors and hatches by using the paint to trick the eye into seeing the hate as "whole". The camo netting (the better to hide you with) is just the typical use of cheesecloth that is common in 28mm (though I'e never tried it in 6 previously). Dyed in a wash made from very dilute GW Camo Green that once dry, used AP Soft tone ink for the brown camo stripes and Vallejo Dark Grey wash for the blacks. You let that dry up really well and then make a wash of school glue and water to wet the net and apply (less is more here in 6mm). Harden it up and bind it better to the model once dry with direct brushed on bits of Testors Dullcoat and your're done.
The burnt metal is just stippled GW Dwarf bronze followed up with GW Warlock Purple (leaving a bit of the bronze showing). Then a wee bit of VGC Imperial Blue and then the very tips hit with VGC Heavy Charcoal. If you're doing this and at any point the colors are too intense just hit it up with dilute black / grey wash (though not required here)
