1st Company, 3rd Mobile Artillery Corp
Here you can see an artillery tank from the first company, 1st squadron in a prepared position. The first squadron's ancient Colossus Bombards were originally from the 98th Necromunda Guards seconded to the regiment during the Tarun Campaign (M37). After the 98th was officially declared lost in action, the tanks were honorably made members of the 965th Merkava Armored Regiment where they remain to this day. The traditional white side panels mark this tank as squadron leader.

The presence of artillery spotters directly attached to artillery companies is a common site in T'tenba Guard forces. Here the spotter is calling out recent enemy target effects from the previous salvo to the unit.

Owning to the original Necromundan practice of artillery squadron markings being orange, the tank's history is honored to this day with non-standard company markings of Macharius Orange despite 300 years of fighting with the 965th. T'tenba artillery units are well known for aggressive forward operations uncharacteristic of other artillery units. While this has caused higher than average casulties among their artillery crews, the effectiveness of the technique cannot be denied.

Here you can see a member of the 149th combat engineers maintaining the Bombard (the secondary super-charger on this tank is malfunctioning and a field repair is being effected). It is a common tactic of Bombard crews to move into positions in ruins, rocks, and ridges helping to provide a measure of protection to their tanks during battle. This tank is noted as the 3rd tank of 1st squadron.

Here you can see a Mk.47A Automata Loader tending to the Bombard. The 965th is noted as a pervasive users of the pattern. Based on the Cyclops chassis, the Mk.47 is slaved with a simple machine spirit capable of safely and rapidly reloading heavy artillery rounds. While normally not found within most mobile artillery regiments (being commonly used in more static emplacements and fortresses in the Imperium) the T'tenba commanders find removal of the integrated loader on the Bombard chassis itself allows a greater degree of mobile flexibility required by changing battlefield conditions. While this practice is frowned upon by the Mechanicum, they admit such modifications do not offend the Machine God being a modular component to begin with.

Even when terrain does not favor natural defensive features, the Merkava Regiment Combat Engineers will quickly erect basic positions for their support artillery. It is standard T'tenba combat doctrine that tank commanders operating without close artillery and air support will find themselves out maneuvered and open to counter attack. The close-up shows markings on this tank indicating it to be the 2nd tank on the first squadron. If the commander is killed or disabled this tank will take command of the squadron.

Crap lighting today so these will have to do for now - editorial note: more likely I just suck at photography

It is standard practice for T'tenba Sentinel formations to work in close concert with Pathfinder teams, especially in urban or dense environments. Here an autocannon is being readied to fire on unsuspecting traitor forces. The spotter to the right is taking cover and tasked with ensuring no enfilade occurs.

Unusual for armoured forces, drop sentinels are favored for recon duty in merkava regiments. The lighter weight and higher stealth characteristics are preferred despite the greater exposure of the pilot. Needless to say, casualties are considerably higher than the armoured patterns.

Urban warfare is where Sentinels superior mobility and agility is best shown: Able to take advantage of ruins and available cover while supporting infantry units better than traditional tracked vehicles in the uneven terrain. Here a Pathfinder is sprinting under covering fire from the Sentinel. The unit has just advanced through the ruins of the Imperial Basilica of St. Gaius the Decieved, which was one of the many structures destroyed during the nighttime firebombing raids undertaken from navy Marauder squadrons during the battle to retake the city center.

While shorter ranged than laser cannons and less versatile than autocannons, the 965tj frequently equip multi-meltas on their vehicles and operate as hunter packs forward of heavier elements. They trade reduced range for the awesome firepower of the weapon feeling it is more effective in their preferred operating environment of cities, ruins, and other difficult terrain. The pilots had a fearsome reputation for deadly ambushes of armoured units during the campaign. According to intelligence reports, the enemy nicknamed the Sentinel teams, "Skalthkiv" which in their vile tongue translates "quick death".

Really like the bombard, putting the ammo crane on that discrete track base is a great detail.
