I've got a quick question for you guys, has anyone converted any death rider scouts? I recently won a Ebay auction of 59 rough riders which will be enough for 19 bases plus a couple of spares. I plan on making a 12 base death rider company plus a 6 base death rider scout platoon but i don't know how to make the two units stand apart.
Ideas?

Add pennants to the lances and/or add a shaffron formed simply by smoothing a GS blob into three angles planes over the face with scalpel blade indentations running perpendicular, making sure the eyes are still there.

I was thinking about cutting off the heads of the plastic IG officers. I always thought their hats looked very Napoleonic hussar. Like the Prussian “Death Head Calvary”. Great if you have enough models.
Just do a quick google pics and thier are some very cool photo's of prussian calvery in winter Busbies. Check out the dude on the whites horse !
Failing that, I paint a "horse blaket" around the rough rider to denote squadron. I found that was easier than painting a very small letter on the horses rump anyhow.
And yeah, what are death riders ? Kreige ?

Yes, look on the FW site, Death Riders are DKoK Cav ... I painted my Cav with different color horses per unit ... http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f248/ ... 4QQtppZZ20 ... scroll down ...

Larger bases for the scout ones, as scouts would be more spread apart. E.g. standard 12x40mm epic strip bases with the holes filled in for the company (small bases can help get more into base contact), then 20x40mm bases for the scouts. Our whatever sizes you prefer, but larger for the scouts. You could also paint the scouts as belonging to a different regiment as the company, with different colours (I'm planning to have a 4-5 different colour schemes from the Vraks books for different units in my own DK army).
Death Riders are Krieg cavalry. They ride tough post nuclear apocalypse, genetically meddled horses, which have hardly any fur and claws instead of hooves.

Thanks for all the comments.
I think ill use the bigger base suggestion as GlynG and a few other people suggested. It would likely be the easiest to do. It will still be a week or two until i get the models so im still up for more suggestions.
Thanks!!
