So its been well over 10 years since I last picked up a paintbrush to paint miniatures of any sort. After collecting (and hoarding) numerous unpainted Epic mini's I thought it was time to make a start finishing off where I left off. This didn't happen! I couldn't get back into finishing my Imperial Guard off that I started approx. 12 years ago. For some reason I couldn't get the same results, so the newly painted mini's ended up being stripped of paint and shoved into a box for later.
Rather than build one massive army, I've decided to build and paint small core armies of say 1000pts that I can come back to and build on. This will also keep me interested in finishing off the army before moving onto the next one.
So after choosing to start with Chaos (Nurgle), I thought I would try out a few paint schemes. I wanted something dark, yet not too dark as to hide detail and not show up, yet not too bright as to make them seem too clean. So I ended up with the following colour scheme.
Its not perfect by far, there are quite a few changes I could make and hopefully once I've been painting for a few weeks I hope to get my eye (and hand) back into painting mode.....thats the theory anyway....we'll see
So here is the first batch that I thought I would try. Sorry for the poor photography, the photos are a little on the darker side, but you kinda get the gist of whats going on with them.
