The first (two) dedicated Epic boards for our club are (nearly) done!

Pretty happy with the result keeping in mind that storage is an issue at our club and not everybody takes as much care with terrain as we would like to so everything needs to be either sturdy or easy/cheap to replace. ;)

Just some last touch-ups on a couple terrain pieces and with summer finally showing its face here in London the streets are no longer warping, hehe

Perfect excuse to show off some action shots! :whistle

Managed to get our 'Orc/Dessert' board finished yesterday which should see its first game this thursday.
Stay tuned for pictures!

Mini battle report of the most epic moment in yesterday's game vs dashley's Baran Siegemasters:

It is the 1st turn of my second game against the Siegemasters and i am (again) facing a Deathstrike Battery and the combo of Siege Grand Battery (BP9) + Siege Artillery Battery (guaranteed 3 BM each turn to break any of my WEs/Titans), which totally destroyed me last game.

I knew i had to be lucky and win initiative and have both my Thunderbolt formations kamikaze attack his Deathstrikes to allow me to deploy my infantry inside the Gorgons or otherwise get pounded by artillery.

We roll for initiative and with a mere +1 i am able to steal it!
*heart starts pounding faster*
First activation, ground assault with Thunderbolts, they are happy to activate.
They fly a bit around the board to set themselves up for an exit through my table edge (if they survive).

Dashley activates his 2 Siege AA Batteries for a total of 6 shots on 5+!
*heart sinks very low*
He rolls and manages a total of nada!

I roll my 4 AT shots and manage an above average of 2 hits.
*heart starts pounding strong*
He picks up his two 5+ cover saves from the gun emplacements, rolls… and fails both!!!

*heart stops for a moment*
:spin

Clear winner of 'formation of the game' and these cinematic moments are one of the many reasons why i love E:A!

Dashley took my burst of joy like the perfect sport he is and used his 1st activation plus a retained 2nd to activate both his artillery formations and broke a Warhound, a Shadowsword and a Medusa formation is one go.
Touche ;)

Cheers, L4! :)

Pulled out our newest table yesterday for two of our club mates to play a Minigeddon match on it!

It's called "The Good, the Bad & the Orc" ^_^

About to order some plastic palm trees to spice it up a bit, but i personally like the desolate settlement atmosphere.

The game was between Tyranids and World Eaters and might been the most brutal slugfest i ever witnessed. :D

General question to everybody, what do you think about Minigeddon and how popular is it in your gaming group?

Thinking about organising a London-area Minigeddon tournament this year and would be interested to know what people think about the list adjustments and stuff.

Well, the tournament is well on its way and things are calming down up bit.

Gives me time to get my army ready for the event! :)
The Thousand Sons have been waiting for more paint way too long but hope i now find enough spare moments to finish this list. Can't complain about missing motivation! ^_^

Here's what i'll currently plan to play at Battle of the Thames:

Plan is still the same, dessert themed basing (incl. vehicles), mid-air jump troops, bunker on hill/mountain as Blitz, broken down Land Raider as take 'n hold.

Wish me luck! ;)

PS: Just like to plug the preview of our custom-made objective marker prize for BOTT! *scroll down ;D

Right, right.

After starting a new job, moving into a new flat and a controversial update to the Krieg army list i thought it is about time to move onto another project for 2015.

Here's a preview of what's to come. :)

At the moment, i am waiting for more miniatures to arrive and i already found a promising freelance painter (via Instagram, which seems the latest rage for painters to promote themselves).
The initial test miniatures turned out great and we are working on fine tuning the colour scheme.

Next will be several modelling session and still need to decide on a basing scheme.
Any suggestions for a base colour to go along with aged bronze?

The project will be done in three batches a 1000 points each.
Hopefully the army will see its first tournament in Summer.

Will post more soon. :)
