Hi all,

Ive been quite busy on an evening this week. Firstly i decided that if im to prize my son away from his xbox in order to give me a game of epic, il need some scenery....

Image

Rocks!! Just stones from the garden mounted on MDF, with a few small stones etc, and painted.

Image

Palm trees. I got a big box of about a hundred of these of ebay last year. They are cheap and cheerful, but with abit of paint do the job methinks.

Image

Chemical tratment plant. Made out of bits I found lying about the house, the "building" is made out of an old contact lens case. The silos were little containers that contained vanilla essence in their past life!

Image

So heres the scenery bits ive got done so far, on one of my desert terrain boards.

Im planning my next building type thingy, maybe some sort of comms array....

Steve

I was going to say nice scenery and ask for a shot with a figure or two for scale, but no need now :)

Nice Novamarines. I like how you managed to take advantage of the details of the models with your paint scheme. Care to take us through your method? (unless you've done that earlier in the thread of course)

Heres my personal favorite at the moment. A sabre tank hunter squadron.

Plastic rhinos, with metal dozer blades i had lying about. The cannon is made out of some 40k marine gunsights, liberated from my sons bits box when he was out ;D I just filed them so thy fit on the sloped armor and drilled a hole for the barrel, dead simple!

Cheers for looking,
Steve

I love the sabres!

Awesome force and I like your simply but effective use of the trees.

Very simple to paint, but quite time consuming unfortunately.

1 I start with a white undercoat
2 Carefully paint on the blue areas, i Use Vallejo paint, its very similar to ultramarine blue.
3 The tracks and other details are painted black.
4 little details such as gun barrels etc are picked out in chain-mail.
5 the whole model then gets a wash of devlan mud. (Its important to let it dry completely)
6 The white areas are panel painted, leaving the devlan mud in the recesses.
7 The blue areas, i highlight just on the sharp edges, with quite a light mix of blue.
8 the black areas get a highlight with some grey and that's about it!

The bases are tablet style bases from East riding miniatures.
