Good morning all,

I have found some more old pictures hidden away on my old hard drive, heres some WW2 microarmour!

British 8th Army 1941

Image

Command stands

Image

Infantry Bn.

Image

Artillery deployed

Image

Limbered up

Image

Matilda 2 Bn (in caunter camouflage)

Image

Image

A13 cruiser tank Bn

Image

2Lb Antitank guns. Limbered and deployed.

Image

Marmon herrington Armoured cars

Image

Vickers light tanks

Image

And no British army of the period would be complete without some Bren carriers.

Image

Finally, heres the lot of them.

Thanks for looking.
Steve

These are wonderful steve what a great battlegroup!

I really like the finish on your desert terrain too, any chance you could tell me what was used to get that textured finish please?

I made these board about 10 years ago, IIRC the texture is a mix of plaster and sand mixed with PVA, and brown emulsion paint. Once that dried, I added another coat of brown emulsion mixed with PVA. Then drybrushed the whole thing with magnolia paint.

The problem was that even though I tried to "seal" it with the PVA it was still fragile and bits kept falling off, If you look closely you can see the repair jobs..... All these terrain boards ended up in the bin about a year ago. :(

I plan on making much better and more robust modular terrain in the future, once ive settled down and have a permanent gaming area/room/shed/garage ;D As they dont travel well.

heres some more pics with these boards, with my DRM collection, Pax vs the Andrayada. Just looking at these old photos makes me a bit homesick!! I miss my stuff, which is all in storage in the UK....

Hi,

Some more stuff, that I finished rebasing today.

Image

Land Raider sqn.

Image

Image

Image

Vindicator Sqn

Image

Tactical Detatchment. (note these are long OOP proxy models)

Image

Close up, and my attempt at adding flames to the flamer.

As a change from the Novamarines, I decided to paint up a potential enemy, a Mantis warrior Land Raider. Im not totally happy with how it came out, and I dropped it, hence the chipped bits and the hastily glued back on lascannon :{[]

Image

Image

Thats it for now, although I have loads more in the pipeline, both painted and awaiting rebasing, and a big pile of unpainted stuff.

Image

Oh, on a whim, I got these off ebay, pretty cheap. Im very curious as to the amount of criticism this edition got, so thought id check it out for myself. After having had a read through, I like it..... ;D

Cheers for looking

Steve

Really nice painting. And if those boards weren't up to scratch im really looking forward to seeing the replacements!

Good luck with the E40k. I still like it though we generaly play EA now, 3rd has a real grand scale. Played with alternating activations could make it very interesting.

Epic 40k is still my favourite wargame, it's simple genius. Nuff said! :)

Interesting. I have had a good read through, and I really do like it too.... ;D

I have posted a few thoughts about epic on my blog, along with my master plan! - http://stevenkelly1.blogspot.com/2013/10/epic-plans.html

Unfortunately I have a tendancy to ramble on where epic is concerned... :spin

Terminators and the company captain next!

Glad to hear you like E40K too it really is a great little game.

Hey Blip i have considered trying alternating activations with E40K myself. I may have to give it a try sometime.
