Its too bad the infantry arent available in lots that are user-friendly. They sure look ace.

Ive never been a fan of basing material that is applied and left as-is. Real world items dont quite convey small-scale coloring very well. Even the colored materials by the different manufacturers dont quite look right to me without at least a wash applied over them. Just my two cents - the rest of it looks fantastic!

well they work pretty well for cadian armies (barring the ogryns.....) as they can have a high proportion of stormtroopers, my infantry are going to be re-based and I plan on mixing stormtroopers into the infantry to give a slightly more steel-legion look to the regular dudes, I've got another 12 stands of infantry and 8 of stormtroopers, with some creative use of spare snipers, ogryns, psykers and a commissar or two, I reckon I can get two companies worth for the price of 1....

The bases do need a wash and drybrush, next friday I can afford my static grass and finer ballast to improve the basing

that settles it, the checks have got to go..... I might replace them with a yellow/black hazard stripe instead, I just wanted to break up the monotony of flat red panels....

Dredging up old post but I have to say you cannot have too many hazard stripes :)
(ok you can but it's hard to overdo :))

Kyussinchains, those miniatures are looking great - some nice detail work. The cadians look better than anything GW have produced in terms of infantry at that scale - very animated!. Is there anywhere that these can be purchased from?

It's a side effect of them being transported to mansfield most weeks I'm afraid..... They get a little squashed in my carry case..... I'm planning on investing in a KR case or two soon.....

Ditto, I have some of their epic trays. Got them at salute (prerelease I think too) and they are great. He has even put a layer of plasticard in each tray because epic trays are so think they can't support themselves. That's thinking things through!

So after getting my hands on a bunch of marines, I've decided that I like the strip bases after all..... What do people think about moving the infantry to them? The stuff needs rebasing anyway, I'm thinking strip bases for infantry and warmaster bases for tanks, hardly revolutionary I know, but there is a reason many people use that particular combo....

I also have a few tanks, infantry and chimeras painted, pics after they are complete

I think strip bases for infantry look good (that's what I use), but for tanks i cut bases from 2mm black plasticard to size. That way the base if perfectly proportioned (not too long or short in one direction). I thinks it looks better if the amount of base showing around the edge of the tank is approximately even around all edges. If you use the warmaster bases, there will will be too much excess base showing in the front and back of the tank which i think looks a bit rubbish. Plasticard is also a piece of p!$$ to cut to order in large quantities so it's no real hardship to make them.

that can be arranged.....

just rebasing my infantry at present (a task which would be very suited as an eternal punishment methinks) and I'm planning on taking pics of all my new stuff (including my spiffy new vultures) this week
