Pg.4 the stepping seems a bit noticeable on the baneblades, did you try to shave any down or file it?

In the future, some tanks are printed by giant 3D printers. This is simply realism.

been a while since I wrote anything on here and even longer since I posted some pics.... well as is traditional, I have a tournament coming up in a week and a tonne of stuff left to paint....

So far I've got my 2 remaining infantry companies undercoated and stuck onto strip bases, I've sprayed my remaining chimeras and my new style basilisks ready for painting, and finished a warhound (finally!)

I've rebased my first infantry company onto the strip bases and used GW textured paint to base them up, I took a few pics....

here's the infantry on their new bases:

warhound right:

unfinished Blitz objective:

unfinished ammo/fuel dump objective:

and my favourite, the unfinished last stand objective:

there is a sniper already taking aim around a barrel, and I plan on adding a commissar, an ogryn and several dead/wounded soldiers and astropaths

The exodus wars marcovan conscripts are excellent models, the images on the exodus wars site don't do them justice, the greatcoat guys from the heavy support sprue are particularly detailed, you can see individual eye sockets on the gas masks.... the munitions pack is also a must buy, I've already got plans for at least one more pack

I'll try and get some pics posted up of some painted infantry and my sniper stands in the next few days!

Some very good stuff in your update. The warhound looks really good, and I love the objectives, too. I am a great fan of mini dioramas, so it will be interesting to see your last stand.

Out of curiosity, is all the texture on your bases from the texture paints, or have you improved it?

/Fredmans

It's solely from the textured paint, I applied it with a very small trowel that the sample prep guys at work use, I added texture by painting it on thick. After it dries (whch takes several hours) I give it a devlan mud wash which helps the grain stand out

My infantry look a little poor due to bad lighting

I will say that it is a complete b**tch to apply to infantry as the paint itself covers anything it touches, while the grains aren't so eager to stick.... It works well on my vehicle bases though, pics later

up till 1am painting last night/this morning again.....

here's some of the fruits of my labour.... not really up to my best standards but I can't afford to spend a whole evening painting a single base, when I get more time I'll go back and touch up the details

Image
Snipers with just enough room to add some DRM spotters when I get them ordered, needs a little flock

Image
deathstrikes made from hydras with 40k hellstrike missiles, FAR from finished, but they have paint on them so not a priority at this point....

Image
finished my fuel dump objective to gaming standard

Image
finished my blitz/ammo depot objective

Image
the last stand objective marker, needs a few dead soldiers adding to it, but I haven't got any spares at the moment!

edit:
Image
as requested, a group shot of the baneblades :)

Unfortunately not, I'm moving house in august so epic will be off the radar for a few weeks around the move while we get packed and unpacked...... I thought you'd managed to sell all your tickets now anyway?

Cool objective markers. You wrote that you used texture paint for the bases, i was actually wondering how this thing works. Is it any good? Better that just gluing sand to the base?
