*sigh* I thought this would happen . . . in England, the manufacturers of miniatures would usually attend the game shows with their entire range on display so that the advertisements and catalogues were simply an 'aide memoir' or future promotion for their wares as people had either seen them or would do at the next show. Plus which, the illustrated advertisements and catalogues tended to be very expensive for the smaller companies; However, many of those small companies used to give out free samples to anyone who wrote in and included return postage in the form of International Reply Coupons ( You know, the ones Ponzi used to fulfil The American Dream ) which was often a loss leader. So, many of us understand the cultural inertia here that these smaller companies have.
Also, the cost of digital cameras is very different outside the US . . . A simple one in my country, for example, costs me three months wages at the average, assuming one did not waste their cash on food, rent and so forth. I can understand the difficulties involved and not blame people for failing to measure up to what are incredibly high standrds set by some nations. ( I hope this comes across as this does
