It seems like they were more unrestricted with what they could do back then - I have seen loads of Rhino conversions that just wouldn't be considered now.
And i agree with Tuff, their is less and less individuality in WD anymore.

Hi!
I find current day WD painting and conversions, pretty sterile with compared to the older WD stuff. I used to buy the magazine back then just to see the Heavy metal section and the conversions people came up with.
I find their stuff now is pretty bland...

I agree. The older stuff was wacked out. Maybe they are trying to be a litter more realistic. I think new blood is needed.

Hi!
Just look at the ads for epic back then, they had converted vehicles that are obviously not GW in those photos, it gave the game a very cool atmosphere.
Comercialization equals standarization.
