Two stages of mechite and blood represent doing a 2nd pass with the colour. For example, the first merchite pass would be very 'scrubby' and appear very dark on the black. The second would build the colour up more, but not cover quite so much area, so as to give a blend effect.

Scorpion was dry brushed the same way, but only using merchite and blood (maybe a blood/dwarf mix as the end?) as there wont be any red edge highlights.

I used to use red gore in-between the two reds, but i've found it can be made redundant by doing two passes with each of the main reds. Red on the doomblasters looks very different because they weren't suitable for dry brushing, so i had to actually paint them.

army shot so far, now i've got more inf stands done (been working on them over the week)

terrible lighting as it's dark here … will do proper pictures after next stuff's done. Included a close up of the apothecary (taken earlier) as he was looking rather jolly.

Very neat! I love the banners, and it's nice to see some variety in infantry poses at such a small scale.
