Hi all,

First epic item painted in some time, though its not a particularly small one. Just a quick Warhound to add to my old Titan Legion. Part of a very busy & enjoyable day's painting  :))

And here he is with his playmates - I really should dig out a Warlord or two to add to them!

Thanks for the compliments guys - much appreciated.

Yes, its Legio Ignatum. To be honest I would never have initially chosen them, but having been requested to paint the warhound for the E:A book for that legion, I decided to go old-school on it & this lot just kind of followed suit! They provide a bit (lot!) of colour when fielded with my old "Desert Ferrin" IG army  :sus:

Regarding chevrons:
Usually, as on the warhound, I just eyeball some vaguely straight lines with orange over a black undercoat. I then neaten them up using chaos black, and the neatening process tends to continue with every sucessive layer.

In this instance, its:
Macharius Solar Orange (Foundation paint - the others were all done using regular citadel oranges)
Golden Yellow
Sunburst yellow (thinned - 2 layered / feathered coats)
Bad Moon yellow (thinned & only on edges to define lines)

When doing more complex patterns, or if I really want to be accurate for a display piece, I'll draw one line & make sure I'm happy with it. I'll then measure off that & draw them on in fine pencil lines before I start painting. You can paint straight over the pencil with Oranges without any problems, though I wouldn't reccommend trying it with standard yellow pigments.
