Sundays are nice lazy days (except when the Formula One is on, then I get a bit animated) and today I finished off the last units for my Warmaster Ancients Republican Roman army (I did the Carthaginians last year), so let the Punic Wars begin!

Hey they look great!

Are you looking to recreat any historical battles?

And somewhat off-topic: I also noticed in a pic of some of your very nice carthaginians that you have a great looking games table. Did you create that surface using the citadel textured spray paint or something similar? (Im planning on making a games table myself, and yours looks exactly like what Im aiming for!)

All of your stuff is really neat, and your blog is very nice!

Thankyou for the comments :)

We going to be starting a Punic Wars campaign very shortly, so watch out for lots of battle reports (and me loosing) as for the table, that texture is done with Masonry paint.  You can achieve the same effect by mixing rough sand into emulsion and coating the boards with it.  Once that is dry, paint and drybrush in your required colours,  Here in the UK we have a shop called Wilko's that makes cheap paint that is perfect for the job.

I will resist! I will not succumb to Bacchus alluring notes. No whine for me!

Thanks for the explanation Phil, sounds like a simple and cheap way to do it, will definitly try it. It really looks great! Looking forward to those battlereps. Will the romans fall for the double envelopment a second time? I dont think so...  :agree:

I 'accidently' bought a Baccus Roman army the other day.  Seeing your army is making me feel much better about it.

I know what you mean, I thinking of accidentally buying some Macedonian and some Persian miniatures.
