Superb as always! The bases are a lovely colour.

So if they're the wrong pigments, I can't even imagine how they'd look better by being the right ones!

Would you mind sharing a brief 'how it was made' with us puny paint-mortals?

I can't believe that you do such good gradients on such tiny figures.

Outstanding. As before mentioned, wrong pigments don't seem to make a difference.

yeah I agree with the rest, the bases are great and IMO a good compliment to the models, I'm very keen to see how you did them as I'd like to appropriate the look for my own knights/skitarii-as-krieg forces :)

Likewise for a slightly redder-than-usual Tallarn/Eldar base scheme here.

Here's the process for the bases, though I have to say that there is one huge caveat there: the models do NOT have varnish on them or any kind of fixative on the pigment. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere but it can probably get pushed around or on things if you touch the bases. This was fine for something more of a display piece that probably isn't going to be touched much, but could be an issue for pieces you plan to play with.

Process:
I glopped on citidel Agrellian Earth to do the cracked ground and used a balast mix for the chunkier bits.
All of this was painted with hull brown from vallejo (similar to the new GW dark flesh) followed by a heavy wash of black
Once completely dry, I mixed secret weapon terracotta earth with some alcohol to make a wash and liberally applied this to he bases and feet.

When that tried completely I used a small brush and dry secret weapon rust brown to add in some bits here and there for variety.

Last step was to use some water and a wet brush to remove some of the pigment on top of some of hte bigger rocks.

That's pretty much it.

In other words, it was all so simple as to be down to 99.9% talent.

Thank you for the details!

Finally got a full army shot together of my Imperial Fists. This is one of the first armies I started for Epic and there's a pretty wide range of quality here with the infantry and Thunderhawks being the worst. Hope you like it!

Gosh.

I just went trough a big part of your thread.

You've got mad paintskill mate.

As for your more recent work

The flames on the salamander predator are just mindblowing.

The Admech is soooo Martian (thanks for the tips on basing)

And that Imperial Fist army is bloody awesome!

I'd fancy some weathering but this is amazing nonetheless.

Congrats and respect sir!

Adding a few more AdMech tanks to the list of things completed in 2016. Did a bit more work with pigments on the treads rather than the painted mud I usually do. I think the results are mixed here. The result is ok, but I think it could be a lot better. I do like that Krios Venator though. Fun little model. If all goes well I'll be able to finish some stuff for BGH before the end of the year and have a clean slate to start on knights and finishing out my Cron, IG, and Skitarii forces.

superb!

any chance of a quick size comparison between the triaros and a more familiar scaled model like a GW rhino?
