Hi all!

I've been lurking on here lately but not acyually posted anything in a while. I thought it might help encourage me to keep things going rather than waste my valuable free time on other (obviously) less important things.

I've started this thread for my IG army that I'm currently painting (it's around 75% done), but I will also start another thread here in the 6mm section for my T'au that I'm attempting to get going, and also one in the scenery section for some ruined buildings that I'm bashing out for a game of Epic some time soon. On top of this I'm trying to get a 40K T'au army up and running and paint a Dwarf BB team. You could say I have my work cut out for me.

My modelling desk is covered in different projects at various stages of progress. The left is where I'm constructing new 6mm scenery, the center has my Imperial Titan legion, and the right picture shows the last of the IG tanks that are underway.

Here's what I've done so far. I have had to accept that I'm never going to win a painting competition and so there's no point going nuts over tyhe quality of my minis. Instead I've decided that I need to finish armies. most armies seem to come together as more and more units are finished, and the painting quality of individual units seems less important. So please bare that in mind when criticising my highlighting; they seem to look even worse with the camera making the blends look harsh.

Thanks Apoc. I keep it simple and try to avoid mixing colours for an army. I used GW's Mechanicicus Grey, followed by a wash of Nuln Oil, then brought back to Mechanicus Grey, then highlighted with Dawnstone, and finally Administratum Grey.

Really cool stuff! I see you use Trolls Leman russes, I really like their models and they look even cooler with your paintwork. It is simple but effective. Looking forward to seeing more Guard ;)

And here I was thinking to myself "geez, the edge highlights on those Russes look really, really swish"...

Seriously, I think the army looks great. You say you wouldn't win a painting competition with them, but you're still plenty good enough for a LOT of people (me included!) to want to gawk at your gorgeous minis. Lovely stuff.

Yeah, these are way better than you give yourself credit for.

Looking really nice.

Nice looking army, keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing the Reavers.

Thanks for the feedback, guys :-) It's definitely encouraging. I've been busy putting together some ruined imperial city scenery this week so painting has stopped for the time being. I'm planning to get stuck into the reminaing Leman Russ company this weekend so hopefully I'll have some progress to post soon.

Jimmy, you can never have enough bombards! For old school Epic they're awesome with their two barrages per turn.

Hate to say it, but isn't that actually the Basilisk's neato ability?

Pics of the ruined city, please!

Yeah, you're right, I'm getting confused! Bombards have the very harsh save modifier, I was thinking of the basilisks that I have too (lurking in the background). They're both OP units when there is a substantial meat shield in front for protection.

I'm working on the ruined city still. I nearly have another 3 buildings made that I'll post pics of within the next few days.

I have just noticed the guys on the lower shelf. I assume they are Kriegers, because there's a Gorgon next to them.

As an aside - where'd you source your mdf/hardboard building bases from?
