Like I said, everything that's currently "approved" was OKed by the prior ERC. That's how it was done, so we honored that and grandfathered all those lists in.

There was some noise for a process though so we put something forward. Honestly, it's little more than what a developer should be doing in the first place, testing their list. Find three groups that are willing to give you six battle reports each against approved lists and send them in to us.

We have found the 2012 version great and appreciate having all the FAQs in sensible locations. Will actually get round to printing this one rather than having my laptop constantly humming during games.

Thanks Dave! Already printed a copy for our playgroup. This is a very important tool for us to have all the errata and some army-lists in one place.


The lack of ability for this community to approve new army-list is a big problem, perhaps start a new tread (if there is none suitable for this, and lets start coming up with ideas on how to achieve this. For me personally it would be easier to help if there was an easy way of knowing what to do. Perhaps a start page that said tyranids need 6 more battlereports before october

If you can work out some kind of process it would be good to try to get the other missing main armies tested enough to be included next year. Those of you that are army champions should really be all pro-actively making the most of Vassal and /or Tabletop to playtest against players and army champions in other parts of the world too.

Which core armies are we missing that are fairly close to being ready?

Tyranids
Adeptus Mechanicus
Titan Legions
Squats

I don't have any of those armies at the moment, but I'll try doubly hard to post up playtest reports when I play any of them in future.

Perhaps I'd be better asking Dobbsy but are any of the variant SM armies considered close to being approved? I do have a SM army with me and could proxy and playtest a variant list if I knew it could help it get approved for next year.

It feels kind of weird that neither Tyranids nor the Squats have an approved list...

FYI there is a detailed, documented process for all Army Champs to have a list approved. If there is a list you think needs to be approved, contact the respective AC or a member of the ERC and we'll help it along.

As for the Squats, there isn't an approved list because the previous versions were highly overpowered and the new list isn't there yet. It's getting there, but I don't want to be hasty about it.

Is there any deadline or date when the AC send in their lists for approval or can they do that when they are finished?
I do not have a lot of background but it looks like it was several years since the last approval and to have several marine lists approved but no Tyranid list just made me wonder...
No need to hurry, just make sure the goal is clear. Will be helping out with the Iyanden as I own Eldar but might be able to proxy some other army if needed
