Is there a thread for asking questions that might enter the FAQ? I'd like some kind of semi-official answer to what "within" means for dismounting from vehicles (to use Warmachine terminology, is it "within" or "completely within").

You can post a request in any rule discussion thread, or in the WIP FAQ thred (still labeled 2011), or send a PM.

This question isn't settled. It is on the to-do list and I'll work with the rules subcommittee* folks to do see what they think before we propose a NetEA "official" answer.

He's changed it a few times in the last while. Wasn't sure if everyone had the new one.

It might be worth adding a FAQ on discarding units at the start of the game to Garrison or make use of separate transport options. (see here for context)

Well there would have to be some sort of consensus and I can't see there being any on that issue

With no consensus, it looks like something I need to add to a list of items for the 5 minute warm-up Tournament topics.

Draft posted. We still need a discussion on aircraft barging/ZoC/screening.

Right now, I only have the aircraft barging, the drop-unit-to-garrison and how sniper should work in assault on the to-do list (not counting some needed editorial work).

Are there other issues that people want added to the list? I missed quite a lot of discussion.

Thought people did 1 Dice....but maybe a Fact for all WE a like...like maybe always using Starting DC or what not? But that would suck for Teleporting...Maybe with exception?

Number of DC ; that one's actually in the FAQ IIRC.

Although that one's actually more errata than an FAQ as it changes then rules rather than clarifies a rules confusion.

A clarification ALWAYS involves a "rule change" for someone because there were different interpretations. Otherwise, it wouldn't need a clarification.

Whilst that's sort of true (It's not really a rule's change it is clarification of a rule where it has been a bit badly worded or could be interpreted another way), you can't get much clearer than:

"To represent this roll a D6
for each unit that teleports into play. On a roll of a 1 the
formation that the unit belongs to receives a Blast marker."

(Emphasis mine)

Unless the definition of unit changes when applied to war engines. We then look across to the War Engine section and see this in clear bold type:

"For most rules purposes, a
war engine counts as being ‘worth’ a number of units
equal to its starting damage capacity, so a war engine’s
starting damage capacity is also used to work out how
many dice it rolls in an assault, how easy it is to pin and
so on. This and all of the other modifications to the core
game rules are described in detail as follows
."

Again, emphasis mine.

Since both Teleporting and Difficult terrain are not then described "in detail as follows" in the rulebook then the definition of unit is clearly not different for War Engines than the clearly set out definition:

"No matter what their size, the Citadel miniatures used to
play Epic are referred to as units in the rules that follow.
Each unit is an individual playing piece with its own
capabilities. A unit may consist of a single model tank, a
gigantic war engine, or several infantry models mounted
together on a single base, but in the rules all of these
things are simply referred to as units."

So what you have here, along with WE difficult terrain is not an FAQ but a rules change. So you're not actually clarifying EA at all but changing the rules to suit yourselves and are in fact playing a different game to the rest of us and, IMO, browbeating the rest of the online community into following suit due to having enough free time to be able to post prolifically on the net's most active Epic forums.

Same goes for WE aircraft barging FAQ question/change, which anyone with even the slightest degree of sense can see is based purely on the willful misinterpretation of an old FAQ.

WE's Teleporting was never considered when the rule was written, this everyone acknowledges.

This ruling is intended to fill in that blank; That's what a decent chunk of the FAQ's do, they fill in rules quirks or oversights that weren't covered explicitly originally. It could plausibly have been ruled either way and remained an FAQ, not an Errata.

I've no bone in this one (and you certainly don't), so *shrug*. People the world over have been playing it the FAQ way since the early Necron playtesting, and seem quite happy with it, if people outside of the UK are happy to play it that way, what's the problem?
