How to make a scan of a catalog available?

I acquired a 1996 GW catalog on eBay, and then scanned the Epic section. It has a lot of similarities to the pictures on Stuff of Legends, but there is some novel content as well.

There are 49 pages, totalling 12 megabytes.

The owners of SoL didn't respond to my email, or I would have addressed the situation that way.

What's the best way to distribute this digital bounty?

I can put it on my website for you.  Or you can open a free account with Geocities, Freewebs, or another such provider and put it there.

Neat. I guess I could email them three or four at a time, depending on our respective email attachment bottleneck. What's your OS?

Mine is XP, so we could use .zip to bundle several pictures into one file. I also have fiber optic connection, so speed isn't a concern for me.

Are they in an image format or a PDF format?  If it's an image (JPG, PNG, etc.), you could upload them to a Photobucket account.  Just a thought.  Otherwise, I have XP and a cable modem, so it's whatever my email inbox will hold.

Neato. They're JPG. Will send experimental transmissions in the next few days.

No prob.  We've all got Real Life? things to deal with.  I keep trying to convince my wife that my working is really cutting into my hobby time, but she hasn't been buying it yet.

You know, I far prefer the older designs to todays.  The Russes, Predators, and other vehicles of the current line are all so overloaded with busy details.  I like the clean look of these.

I do prefer the current superheavies, though.

Baneblades and Stormblades, yes. However the Mk1 Shadowsword remains one of my all time favourite models even if the current design is stil very nice.

I love all the old superheavies more - but I used to hate that oblique mould line along their sides! Lots of trouble to remove.

Im in two minds.  I like the simple, clean designs of the old minis- particularly the predator and artillery.  They look characterful and slightly cartoony.

However I really like the new range as the minis of all races seem more brutal and realistic, particularly the orks.  I was never a fan of all the slate roofs on old ork vehicles- the new ones look much more vicious (with the exception of some of the minis in the gunwagons blister...).

You are sooo right, Van. That mould line was a major pain in the derriere to remove.

It's one my all time favorites, too. The current Shadowsword is nice, but the barrel isn't long enough, IMO.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at.  The new models (especially IG!) all seem to be "chubby" -- the Russes and Chimeras have all got loads and loads of camo netting, tanker rolls, crates, boxes, and other crap festooned all about them.   Enough, I say!  My Guards travel light and that's the way we like it!
