Hi Tom. Can you check your registered email address, as I just had a message returned for you. Anyway, I wanted to know how close you are to the 'largest peace-time fire in Europe since the second world war'?

The police cordon runs outside my house , I am woke up, gazed out the window and discovered that I was in fact living just outside Mount Doom. My office was also next door, so got gutted, I had a few days off, sitting in the local sipping beer as toxic smoke enveloped my GF and I.
I then got relocated to Epsom and have been seriously abusing the corporate expenses by getting ridiculously drunk every night, and then because our mainframes were immolated (thank god I wasn't working early! - as if that would ever happen...) I can't work during the day so have been mainly sleeping at my desk (yet still fully alert) in preparation for the night out.
So yeah - I am quite enjoying the fact that I live next door to the largest blaze in peace time europe . My windows were fine thanks to the fact that we had a house party so they were all open, my GF's windows were all blown in by the blast. When I heard it I thought someone had booted down my door! I woke up on my feet fists out, assumed I was dreaming and so just shrugged and went back to sleep obvious of the inferno outside.
The GF then had a major lecture at me for not ringing her to see if she was ok, as if I would?!? I thought it was a fabbo action/thriller dream! Women....

Big fuel depot fire, the biggest fire of any type in England since WWII. You can probably google up about a million news stories.

Thanks, Stormy. I'm amazed that there were no fatalities.

I am the token Hemel resident, you've probably played with me before. Which wargame clubs do you attend?
